I'm also curious as i was on memantine (20-40mg orally) for some time taken with morphine (25mg x2/day now after 1.5year of daily usage i take around 40-50mg x2/3 a day, but I'm working on my tolerance as it went up when i was homeless due to high anxiety and stress daily) daily for chronic pain (hyperalgesia from stimuli processing disorder) but it was life changing for me because of working also for my other disorders like crippling anxiety (i didnt needed Benzo at all thanks to memantine!) And lack of motivation (from basically a vegetable and barely leaving bed since my teenagehood started missing on life, i became this happy bursting with energy, painfree person i first time in my life started going outside, everyday to the park bought skateboard, rollerblades etc, i cried from happiness because it felt like going out of "the other world" from silent hill to normal reality for the first time and taking off the pain-glasses that twisted everything because anything besides sleeping and laying in bed was always an experience inseparable from painful stimuli, overstimulation, anxiety but also overall apathy boringness discomfort etc.

But it wasn't always like that, when i was a small kid i was extremely passionate about the world, curious and overfilling with wonder and emotions, and getting on proper medications gave me it back a little bit, but for so extremely fatigued 21 yo me, it was absolutely world changing and breathtaking, as i said i cried from happiness)

But unfortunately not for long because i was forced off it due to several reasons like doctors treating me really bad due to my decision of selfmedicating especially opioids (i had to selfmedicate for years since my teenage years i was neglected and abused by my mother and medical system, put on one ssri after another wkthout any cooperation from doctors even when i was adult for years, and reasons like selfmed being expensive and unstable availablity sources.

And now I'm looking again into nootropics and amantadine sounds really interesting and like a good candidate, from purely pharmacological perspective as it's really similar to memantine, i found some in our family meds stash for some reason (also couple pills of memantine despite my mom not being into nootropics (yet lol) last time i checked ) and I'm really curious about it's potential and if it would be easier to get than memantine, either prescribed or on-line as i suspect i already seen it somewhere online
