Had he simply taken stock of what he did have, and behaved more maturely, I don't think he would have ended up in this position, but, he couldn't do that. He had to beat Ralph on his own level, he had to be the bigger ralphamale, and in doing so he both lost that war and everything he should have held dear.
I'd almost feel bad for him had he not been warned of this sort of shit for years.
