He is quite literally saying "Is there a way to get people to pay me more for art but without actually letting them say what art they'd like".

This reminds me of those people on Kitchen Nightmares who apparently expect Gordon Ramsay to show up and say "Wow, your food is amazing, your restaurant is awesome, and you are wonderful intelligent people, it's your customers who are wrong, let me fix them!

Actual answer: Dobby is one of those "But if we just tax the rich people, everyone else could have everything they could possibly want for free, forever!" sorts. That is the level of his understanding of economics.

Dobson always had a very bad concept of how to make himself known or how to make profit out of his stuff, period.
After all: This guy published only a bunch of pages of his comics and then expected people to pay for the actual softcover. Only to then be surprised why his lack of actual content, low level expossure (dA is after all not a plattform that makes you famous) and the unwillingness to work things out in advance (after all, he doesn't even have scripts for his comics prepared) results in people not buying his stuff.
But of course, it is not his complete lack of understanding how basic money earning works, that is at fault. It must be amazon and the unwillingness of people giving the little (aka, bald, fat, creepy) guy a chance.

For crying out loud, he put his stuff behind a paywall on patreon and now wonders why he is not making new people interested in his stuff. Even some of the most retarted and notorious furry artists have a better understanding on how to get people's attention with their work than this guy. Jay Naylor is a better at handling the patreon business than this guy, seeing how he still lets people put his stuff on some other pages. Dobson would just go batshit and then be pissed about the expossure.

I have a friend who recently got a huge uptick in his monthly Patreon after he put up censored versions of the porn he draws on his social media. In just a few days it shot up by $1000 and it's been holding steady since. It also helps that he interacts with fans at cons, draws very well (his art improved immensely in a few years), and isn't an asshole.
