Navy SEALs, Delta Force, and SOCOM general - The most "Special" groups in the U.S. Military

The giga necks is a classic steroid usage sign.
Not necessarily. Formula 1 drivers have massive necks because the job selects with people with those genetics, but they are tiny everywhere else.
By the way, if you guys got any uncensored pics of Matthews, that'd be swell. He's a criminal of the lowest order and doesn't deserve a face blur. If not, I'll try to find them myself. I added him and his company to the OP.
No un-blurred photos sadly. I don't know if the military justice system even does mugshots.

Speaking of green beret murders i found a photo compilation from Billy Lavigne's obituary. He looks so normal like a schlubby redneck
In one photo he's wearing a Warrior's Heart shirt which is a rehab facility for veterans and first responders. But evidently he never went and got help.

Oh wow, that video of the funeral house is horrendously trashy. Good find bro. Just burn my body and forget about me before making such a video. (BTW, archive your links, bro, it's a good habit.)

Well, about Matthews, they didn't do a particularly good job of censoring his face in the ROK videos with Lt. Kim. For now, it'll have to do, I guess. If his BUD/S class can be found and pictures of it, I'm sure he's there, but at this point mentioning him is enough I think.

It's wild how our Military went from being the most feared Militaries on earth at any given time to LGBTQ Troon Generals and Staff Officers with the rest of the world laughing at us in like 8 Short years.
If the US abandons Ukraine to its fate and follows its steps of pulling out like in Afghanistan, its strategic alliances worldwide will suffer. What will the Japanese, Taiwanese, Poles, etc, think about America if it happens? That it's an unreliable ally that will not honor its promises if there's pressure at the Congress or the person at the White House has a sudden mood swing. Which might be truth.

But I don't want this thread to devolve into US politics too much. I'll just say that hopefully the US learns how to use the military better than during GWOT and keep control of is soldiers. Otherwise, threads like this will appear, but much bigger.

Still can't wrap my head around guys who are in a job that requires athleticism not being in good shape.

He was 35 something when he took those photos. He died at 37. He still was probably quite fit in the endurance sense, but in Delta, you are an old guy at that point, and will spend most of your time in TOC or if you go on hits, you don't go into buildings, but you take control of the operations, so you don't need to be ultra fit. Also, the burn-out, injuries, alcoholism and drug use doesn't help with athleticism.

Lavigne's wife was cute. Sad. Lots of Delta Operators don't get there until 30 or even 33 and stay on teams until their 40s. Jonathan Dunbar was 36 when he killed himself and was the most junior member of his team. Lavigne was a member of a B Squadron Assault Troop as a dog handler when he killed Leshikar. My greatest failure to archive was not saving his Enlisted Records Brief after Seth Harp Tweeted it. But I remember his last combat deployment was to Iraq in 2017.

A lot of the fitness you'll need in the military is endurance and cardio rather than pure explosive strength with a super trim body, and it's also worth noting that there are some professional athletes who don't look all that fit but still are elite under the hood. Take Daniel Cormier, a 5'9 former MMA Heavweight.
He's 40 here, full dad bod and everything. He's still picking up and slamming a resisting 240lb heavyweight. Sometimes looks are deceiving, and not even just for extremes like dehydrated bodybuilders being in worse shape than if they just had a little bit more bodyfat%.

What a douche Pranka is. It is unreal. I guess a lot of what you do in Delta depends on when in your carrer you joined. I've read accounts of mostly people who joined while young. 23-26 so when they get to their mid 30's they already have +10 years in Delta. But thing are different I imagine if you join older.

So I was looking into Johnatan Dunbar, because JIDF said he killed himself. And I was curious about his "suicide". But it wasn't a suicide, though what happened is even more interesting.

In 2018 Syria he got killed along an SAS bloke by a bomb. The Pentagon reported that they had hit a roadside IED. Tragic. But the Pentagon is literally a reddit janny at this point who doesn't "sweep it up" but rather "cover it up". And guess who was a news article who published the Pentagon's original report... USAtoday. The same news site that is a "trustworthy" source on Wikipedia for the Byuucide. Huh...

The truth is that they apparently they blew themselves setting up explosives or something.

Do you guys believe this literal redditor of r/JSOCarchive ?

https://old.reddit.com/r/JSOCarchiv...jonathan_dunbar_delta_force_sgt_matt_tonroe// archive

"Article excerpt from a SOFREP article saying they died because Dunbar approached the target building to breach it but he set off an ied that then set off his breaching charges, which injured 5 teammates and killed Tonroe
"Sources with intimate knowledge of the operation spoke to SOFREP to set the record straight. According to a number of Joint Special Operations Command operators, the MoD statement is only technically correct. In fact, there was an IED, and its detonation was responsible for the deaths of the two operators.
While approaching their objective, Sergeant Dunbar, who was serving as a breacher, set off an IED that detonated explosives he was carrying on his person. Sergeant Tonroe and five other friendlies were caught in the blast, which resulted in the death of the SAS operator.

So, yes, technically the two coalition commandos were killed by “friendly fire,” but only because of a perverted twist of fate and not due to personal mistakes. Sergeants Dunbar and Tonroe died like warriors taking the fight to the enemy."

Matt Cubbler believes that the Obama's kids aren't theirs and that Michelle is a tranny. He's insane lol. He also thinks that bin laden isn't really dead.
Okay, do you know this SAS dude, Chris Craighead (fake name)?
Fuck man. Everything I was taught is a lie!
Opening it... OH, GOD GHOST NOOOO WHY U DID TAKE THIS SELF-PIC THAT WAS BOUND TO GET LEAKED
I don't believe it. Ghost would be far hairier.
Edit: COC excerpt; the gall of the lawyer, highlighted in the end.
You weren't kidding. I don't know or care about any of the people involved in this case and I still would happily elbow that lawyer in the jaw.

What's unfortunate about how much of a cocksucker Pranka is that he seems affiliated with Mike Pannone. Noner seems like a good dude and a solid instructor. I want to take a class from his at some point this year and I'd rather not have anything to do with Pranka.

Delta is lying. There was no IED. If there had been an IED causing a sympathetic detonation of a breaching charge, they would have said so from the beginning. The British MOD maintains that there was no IED. Quite similar to the Linda Norgrove debacle. So much so that a Daily Mail article conflated the incidents, saying that Matthew Tonroe was killed by a SEAL throwing a grenade - an obviously false staetment because SEALs weren't there in 2018.

Delta has a history of being incompetent with breaching charges. Mike Pannone blew himself up and lost his eye in training. Two Delta operators Tyler Grey and Mike Morton were severely wounded by a friendly breaching charge in Iraq in 2005, and Paresh Amin said on his podcast appearance that he knows "a ton" of guys who have had breaching accidents.

In the CQB MSOB video posted earlier in this thread you can see multiple incidents where one Delta team throws flashbangs directly at another team as they are clearing towards each other.

Yeah, I agree. I don't buy the IED theory. The most likely theory to me seems Dunbar mishandled explosives and blew himself and Tonroe up. The rest is just Pentagon damage control to protect the Delta "brand" because NOOO, CITIZEN CHILD, MY ELITE SOLDIERINOS NEVER FAIL OR FUCK UP.

One last thing. I messaged Brent Tucker on Instagram last year to see if he would explain what happened. I was very respectful and basically said "our press here says it wasn't an IED." "Can you explain the discrepancy?" His answer was "out of respect for Dunbar and his family, I won't say anything" Which makes it sound like it was Dunbar's fault. If it was an IED, why would it be disrespectful to Dunbar's family? But then he went on The Team House Podcast and repeated the IED story. As JIDF Team 6 established, Tucker is quite comfortable lying.

Yeah, getting KIA by an IED is no shame and no disrespect to the family. It's just war. Brent is full of it.
Also, on that point of being bad with breaching accidents, Chris VanSant on his Shawn Ryan Interview mentions how a dude in OTC got his hand blown off by a blasting cap detonation. at 1:27:23 of the video

Something is fundamentally wrong with the selection process if someone capable of blowing his hand off makes it all the way to the close quarters battle section of OTC. Full members manage to shoot their teammates at alarming rates. The alcoholic wanker Pranka said on one of his drunken streams that a Troop Mate of his shot another operator. The fourth such example admitted publicly by former Deltas. Completely baffling.

Examining the selection and training processes. Someone of any military background can go to Delta. And operators say in interviews that training starts from the basics with marksmanship due to the diverse backgrounds of people who end up at the unit. Navy divers and regular Army engineers are two real life examples.

In order to make it to Delta one must complete:

-4 years anywhere in the DOD
-1 month of selection
-6 months of OTC

In order to make it to SEAL Team 6 one must complete:
-6 months of BUD/S
-6 months of SEAL Qualification Training
-18 months of pre-deployment training
-6 month deployment with a regular SEAL Team
-another 18 months of pre-deployment training
-another 6 month deployment
-9 months of Green Team

I don't care how badass your training is, there is no way that Delta magically packs in more training in that short of a timeframe.

To be fair to the powers that be, but it does tie in with the earlier rant I posted, it takes a certain kind of special to volunteer.

It’s a bit like guys who work in demolition or “professional” skateboarders.
They are not necessarily crayon eaters or dysfunctional, they just have a lack of a certain sense of self preservation.
And of course a number of them can be of average or higher intelligence and professionalism, but they still need that curious “quality”.

The powers that be are well aware of this, as there are of course commissioned officers who never go near any actual danger and join and “serve” entirely in a research or psychological capacity. They call it something else, but basically they are the ones who profile the kinds of recruits they need.

McNamara’s morons for instance was one of the experiments which basically demonstrated that they can’t use the most retarded of fellows, as they will fuck things up with alarming frequency.

So it has to be a pretty careful balance of this foolhardy but not dense sort of type.

Freud gave that curious quality a name. He called it thanatic instinct or "Death drive".

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Death_drive / archive
Funny you mentioned skteboarding, DJ Shipley was an avid skteboarder in his youth. But to the point, having that death drive, still doesn't justify being unethical, murderous or unprofessional. And if too many accidents happen in training, perhaps the training is problematic, not the soldiers' psyche.

Sorry for not phrasing that more clearly.

I apologize in advance if Larry Vickers has already been mentioned. Larry Vickers was a Green Beret starting in 1981 and then a Delta Force Operator from 1989-1997. He then worked at Delta as a small arms liaison to the industry and as an OTC instructor. Vickers was previously known for becoming hilariously fat and making excuses for it.
It's alright JIDF, by the way, you should re-read the OP, Vickers is the first Delta I mentioned. I think you are going to like what I did about the Ranger's getting their HVT joke. And yeah, it was hilarious to see him justify how fat was he by going on a tirade about his "service" and how tough it was. It only took having cancer to make him slim out.
