It's also absolutely delusional. She cannot take care of herself, mentally or physically; she's just not capable of it. She needs assisted living with caregivers, or to be in a rehab facility. Putting her in an apartment of her own—which she admits she hasn't yet contacted anybody in "the government" about, to get the ball rolling—would be a disaster. Jeremy's doing a lot more for her than just her bedtime routine and getting her up in the morning; I can guarantee that. But she's too stupid and childishly self-absorbed to recognize it.

If she was capable of getting her shit together at all, she wouldn't be in the position she's currently in—she would not have allowed herself to get there. What she'll do instead is go find someone else to shelter her and be her caregiver, while she continues her parasitic existence and decline toward death—and I can guarantee they aren't going to be as kind to her as Jeremy has been.

My money's on her ending up in Louisiana, disappearing, and maybe, if we're lucky and somebody pays for a funeral for her, we'll see an obituary or death notice in a couple of years. But hey, who knows, maybe the Luck of the Lolcows will be with her, and she'll end up somewhere with a decent internet connection so we can watch this one play out.

There have been several other deathfats who admit to using Ozempic/Wegovy; I'm sure I have been ninjaed on all of them. To say their collective results have been "modest" would be an understatement.

Semaglutide isn’t a magic weightloss injection. People often lose weight on it because it slows gastric emptying which means people tend not to get hungry and eating can be uncomfortable, meaning they usually eat less. But in most cases the unpleasant side effects will wear off as the body adjusts to the medication. Diet and exercise are still required for maximum effect.

The issue for the deathfats and HAES/BP folk is they won’t eat healthily, and physical activity is minimal at best. They still eat all their junk foods, and they don’t have actual hunger cues they can rely on. Their hunger is all in their heads. In essence they’ll do as Corrisa and Anna have, where they lost weight initially due to the slowing of the gastric process, but once their body adjusts to full dose of the medication they’ll stop losing weight and start regaining.

But yes, her current state is rather serious. She's reached My Six-Hundred-Pound Life levels. With the information she's provided us, she lives just like a lot of the people who end up on that show. I do feel bad for her, especially for the pain she experiences due to the screws in her leg. Just thinking about that makes me cringe. But that's where the sympathy ends.

Of course I can sympathize with the pain and difficulty that Evie experiences day-to-day, that has to be excruciating and miserable. But I really have a hard time feeling bad for her and any other deathfats. You don't just wake up one day at 500 pounds after going to bed at a much smaller size. There were so, so many chances to get help, and so much time. She made her bed for decades and now she's currently lying in it. Falling through it, more like.

As a smoker, do you think if in ten or twenty years from now I made a big stink about getting lung cancer and/or having difficulty breathing even though I made the conscious decision to do this to myself for decades, that anyone would laugh at me or say "I told you so?" Just wondering.

Many North American (and interior Chinese) university graduates have low literacy/reading and writing ability in their native language. For some reason even stupid humanities students or shit-rural school-types in other countries have average to useful writing skills in at least their mother tongue (if they are the type of people who actually want to be in school), and the Russians and South Americans I've met who studied English in school are often literate in that as well. American and Canadian schools seem to place no importance on reading and writing, even in primary and secondary school.

The one thing in her favor is the debt relief given to people who attended these for-profit places might apply to Evie. But she’s not together enough to even look into it.

I broke bones in my foot almost a decade ago. I did everything to become more self sufficient. I was NOT prepared to be dependent on anyone else.

Evie could have got herself a knee scooter to keep the other leg mobile instead of relying totally on a wheelchair that Jeremy had to push around. Mind you, I’m not sure they make those for people who weigh as much as she does. She could have bought an electricfied scooter that would get her to the shops so she could handle that herself. No-one should ever be oblidged to manage someone else’s ADL’s when the invalidity is deathfat related.

I browsed through the archives of Evie's blog trying to find out where she went to "college." The blog is drivel (shocker) but I found a few interesting tidbits.

Her first husband was ten years younger than her. They got married when she was in her early 30s and he was in his early 20s. Link | Archive.

I did not have a lot of positive experiences at all when I was in my teens and twenties mainly due to becoming an alcoholic and not being able to interact well with others. Then when I reached sober 30’s and life was semi “normal”, I was in a relationship with someone 10 years younger than I am...I wanted kids and he wasn’t ready. I wanted to settle down and he was still in college.

Admits to exceeding 700 lbs at one point. She then lost weight and has regained it, her current weight is probably north of 700 again. Link | Archive

In the following years, [my best friend Amber and I] would live together and she endured me being sick, gaining up to 7—plus pounds, suicide attempts, misery, and then me going cold turkey and becoming sober, going to online school, losing weight...saying goodbye when I met Mr. right who she tried to tell me was Mr. wrong.

A little catch-up with me. Not hard to do as I am still not supposed to weigh bear on my foot. This entire concept has been stupid. Am I really supposed to stay in bed for 3 entire months? I mean look at me my size is not allowing me to get on crutches and go. [The Ace bandage]... is not enough support without the two hard-cast pieces. However, in reference to those two cast pieces, the medical team made no effort to make them work with my leg better. The back piece was way too long and it literally cut into my upper leg. Why would they not cut it down? I have no idea. The side pieces dug into my ankle making it even more sore and painful than it was from the fracture. Again, I have no idea why they would not make a better mold. So, what I have been doing since my second week home is wrapping it only in an ace bandage, and most of the time unless it is hurting too bad sleeping with nothing on my foot...Jeremy shows me so much love and support. If I don’t feel like getting out of bed, he makes it where I don’t have to.
