I'd like to talk about Matt Haslam / Professor Pride / Powered By Rainbows and a video of his that I came across, which I assume is fairly typical for his channel.
So, I'd come across a lot of split attraction model stuff on LGBT Tumblr a few years back. Most of the time, people deliniated sexual attraction from romantic attraction, usually in the context of asexual and aromantic people who could be said to lack one or the other. (If you don't know, don't ask.)
Sometimes a third part was added for platonic. And occasionally you'd get people creating hyper-specific labels to distinguish any of the above from sensual, aesthetic, and other types of attraction, but rarely ever elaborated on it much beyond that.
Enter this fucking guy.
Nothing of particular note about the first part, which is about gender, other than his definition of cisgender would imply that trans people become cis if they pass as their desired gender, and a passing reference to puberty blockers would suggest a large part of his target audience is underage, but on to:
What follows is an explanation about a SEVEN-PART split attraction model. Possibly the most autistic explanation I have ever seen, regarding love, of all things.

It's like an alien blobman tried to derive the human concept of "love" from first principles, based a textbook it found that it can barely translate into its own language.
He concludes with an explanation of how much of a unique snowflake you are using some extremely far-fetched calculations.
Fucking retard did the maths wrong. It would appear that he multiplied 1,000,000 x 7 = 7,000,000 instead of doing 1,000,000 TO THE POWER OF 7.
The guy looks like a nerd. Those of us who studied a STEM subject at university all had one classmate who looked just like him. So you assume he must at least be smart. Yet he makes at least FOUR glaring errors in an easy calculation and confidently gives you the wrong answer. He calls himself a professor. And his videos are shown in schools.
Remember when advocates of homosexuality were rock musicians and movie stars who did gay shit as part of their wild lifestyles? It was degenerate, sure, but at least there was a kind of dignity to their rebellion. And remember when activists for a cause were required to at least be somewhat smart about it? Nowadays, it's managerial class charisma-vacuums who do it because they literally cannot do a single other thing.

Wrong again. How he got this result is beyond me since the significant digits of 196 would suggest that he multiplied by 4 at some point, but I can't imagine why. Did he double it once for each of the gender spectrums he established earlier in the video? (one for gender presentation and one for identity)? At least he divided by 7.9 billion correctly.
But anyway, the correct answer is 1,000,000^(7+2) = 10^54. But no one cares or notices because you get a meaninglessly large number either way.

So, the whole point of this exercise was for viewers to quantify their attraction on seven of these ternary plots (with attraction to non-binaries as the third variable) but he draws them all as circles. Ternary plots should be TRIANGLES, not circles. Everything outside the triangle is mathematically invalid since it would require percentages lower than zero.
This is what a ternary plot is SUPPOSED to look like:
And since every form of attraction is quantified by the same three variables – male, female, and non-binary – there's no reason you can't just mark all seven on the same plot (as in the above) and save yourself a whole lot of paper.
