Isn’t this the risk you take once you get into things like politics or even being in charge of religious matters? Because at the end of it all, it’s all apart of the risks you have to deal with when you dive headfirst into anything administrative or public related matters.

Actually It sounds like a hiding behind religion case more than anything, From the looks of it he's been into weird shit for a while (which recently escalated) but chose to use the church as a cover.

There have been several documented cases of these types who hide behind religion and indulge against the very thing they preach against, I think of this the way trollshielding is often viewed when someone with weird shit behind the scenes finds a community to partake in and put on a Dr Jekyll like scene but at night continue the spiral downward, Especially on the internet.
