I won't go over all the details for eligibility/benefit calculations because I don't really want to spend the time understanding it all. Here's what I see as relevant:
Both Boogie and Dez2 (and Chad, if he's there) would have to work. I don't know that Boogie being on SSI for a mental disorder would exempt him.

Dez2 and Boogie (for the next year) would both need to work at least 20hours/week or lose benefits.

For reference, here are the federal poverty guidelines. Not sure if this would be 2/3, since I don't know if Chad actually lives there anymore.

And here are the benefit amounts. Their formatting is fucked on the bottom, but look under where it says "Maximum"

Maximum benefits for 2 are $374/mo (~$4.5K/year), for 3 is $535/mo (~$6.5K/year). They usually don't give the maximum, but it's easier to calculate with those numbers.

My brain is too fried right now to draw any conclusions between this and Boogie's financial situation. I can definitely say that on SNAP, both Boogie and Dez2 will need to work.

I guess the questions this leaves me with are: Does Boogie's household make $30-40K in a year to cover their cost of living? Is their monthly income low enough to even get on welfare?

@cock gobbler : I think 30-50k a year income is about where he's at. Maybe if you throw in a one time bonus like the boxing thing he's at around 40-60k. He bought his house at a time of rock bottom rates so if he's smart he's already paid that off given he was probably raking in 150-250k a year for a 5-6 year period.

But the way he talks I don't think he's paid off his house. He's probably worried that between property taxes and his mortgage if he falls below 40k he's just not going to be able to make ends meet. He bought that shitty little car new I believe, so there's 25k down the drain and he's probably making payment on it as well. If his fixed expenses are say 1.5K a month for his mortgage and $400 for his car (including insurance) that's like 25K a year he needs just to pay those. We know he's at least spending 10-15k a year on food, and probably another 10-15k on sugaring.

He's probably eating into his savings and he's probably got enough for a few years at best. He didn't spend his money wisely when he was making bank and now those decisions are coming back to bite him. the credit earned from the trade in is applied to your bill over the course of the 3 year contract you're signing, but as @bravosouth already pointed out, the $1000 credit offer comes with the caveat of requiring verizon's most expensive data plan, unlimited ultimate. essentially verizon is roping you into a 3 year contract to milk you for an additional line with an expensive data plan that will earn them more money in the long run than what the phone costs. while your bill is credited 1000 / 36 = ~28 dollars each month, that does not fully offset the additional monthly cost of the new line you now have to pay for with an expensive data plan. they aren't handing out brand new iphone 15 pros for free for any old iphone you have laying around. they know what they're doing and they're making money from these offers.

it's a pretty poor financial decision for someone who is supposedly broke and incapable of earning a full-time salary from youtube.
