Personally I disagree for the simple fact that when I take my young daughter out in public I expect not to have to share a bathroom with a man. It’s not overblown to me because I don’t want to normalize ignoring boundaries, and I don’t think she should have to just get over it or get used to being in a state of undress around strange men. it’s so simple, bathrooms are sexed for a reason. It also goes beyond bathrooms, like Girl Scouts and chaperones for school trips. There’s plenty of articles to be found of trannies flocking to the ymcas and camps and scouts (positions of authority) and being put in charge of intimate care for young girls.

That we can’t object to that without the media calling us histrionic or people blowing it off as less important than x bothers me. Our girls and boys deserve the bare minimum of comfort that we were afforded as children, and it’s not a good look to tell a child, “I know that 6 foot man in a mini skirt is scary honey but they’re trying to cut off little Billy’s balls, it could always be worse.” Both things can be harmful and important to focus on at once.

The issue isn't rape so much as indecent exposure and voyeurism, which is now essentially legal under self-ID. Rape in bathrooms might be relatively rare but flashers love hanging around anywhere where women are alone and defenseless. I think we’ll see a degree of equilibrium reached. Many of the problems arising come from loopholes and things that people didn’t anticipate when the rules were written. Go back a few years and trans people were so rare that there just wasn’t a need to consider them. The loopholes will be closed and yes, troons will wail, but what will they do about it?

I also think that we will see a massive, massive backlash as regret sets in - particularly for the kids as they realise that yes, it was a phase, and no, they’re never getting their bodies back.
