Christ. Parents, present and future:
Talk to your children. Love your children (and tell them). Be present for your children. Listen to your children. Be fucking nice to your children. Have expectations for your children and raise them to know there are expectations, and teach them to see expectations and challenge as positives. Spend time with your children, from day 1 and as much as they will let you. And get your children the help they need. If you don't, someone else will give them a "reason" in their teens/later to spiral downward and find an easy "home" with lunacy and lunatics.
And if you are too stupid, selfish, confused, or dysfunctional yourself for a productive and healthy life, don't have children, because you're just creating someone to ruin.
Maybe this person has developmental intellectual issues, idk, but she is thinking in a batshit insane way and is about 16 years overdue for quality parenting (and/or inpatient care).

The Internet has been the wrong substitute for parenting, and I worry for our younger generations who have been given a tablet since before they could walk.

Well, I think that qualifies as being short of or overdue for "quality parenting."
And yes on the Internet. The easy availability of information (true, false, half of each, or insane) has grossly outpaced the development of the ability to assess it critically.

I read a few of her threads and I can't help feeling sorry for her.
She's only 13. Home schooled. Christian parents. Her dad is an abusive drunk who tells her God hates her and treats everyone in the family like shit, including pets. She's clearly suffering from anxiety and depression, but possibly schizophrenia too. She hears voices, but her dad told her that she's hearing "demons" and that her mom sometimes hears them too. Nobody is trying to help this kid.
She's not taking testosterone or anything like that, but Reddit is a terrible place for someone like this to hang out.

I found this guy’s reddit that is kind of funny, kind of depressing, and generally odd. I don’t know if he is a troll or not, but here are some of the highlights.
The troons really hated this post, they think that trooning follows the same adage about the best time to plant a tree.
Imagine being afraid of the Wuhan flu in the year our lord, 2023. The people saying he was spiraling were probably reading his reddit, and they’d be correct.
If a reddit tranny is being the voice of reason, you need to seriously reevaluate your life.

It was a bit of an eye-opening experience. The doc giving the handover to me called my pt "she" and "her", and then added at the end "oh and she wants to be called "he" and "insert patient's chosen name".
I don't need to be a paramedic to know that misgendering the suicidal trans patient is probably not the best way to handle that situation. Everyone seemed to handle it as "oh lets just humor the pt by calling them "he" infront of him, but calling him "her" when he cant hear us". A bit like we were playing along with his delusions.

Yeah, that lines up with my experience. They also seem to forget that we have access to many of the documents that they misgender us on.
I hate being treated like some child playing pretend. I'm a 31yo man with a health condition for fucks sake.
Thank you for being an actual decent provider. I appreciate folks like you that can see how fucked up that sort of treatment is.
My surgeon referred to me as “she” on my hysto but explained prior that because of my insurance it had to be done as a female procedure on a female patient. Surgery notes included patient assessment which was “transsexual male in good health and physical condition with no significant findings” or however she phrased it.
I know I’ve gotten push back on my documentation for trans men with suspected female reproductive problems. Was told that billing basically needs it either gender neutral or female in order to get it through insurance with appropriate pay out. And I’m just a paramedic not an OBGYN.
“Actually her pronouns are he/him” Cis people are wild.
It's so exhausting!! I've had so many doctors even THERAPISTS misgender and deadname me, and then huff and get pissed when I correct them, or get pissed when I don't respond to the wrong name. Like treat me as the person I am and fucking respect me. Just because a doctor is in some kind of power above me doesn't mean I'll respect them if they disrespect who I am.
While I wasn't on this particular call I heard the dispatch and radio traffic for it. It involved someone who called 911 because they thought they overdosed on T. I knew it was someone who was FtM because the CAD notes were <female name> <last name> goes by <male name> believes they overdosed on T. Everyone I was around was making fun of it. Wish I was around to see how the hospital transfer of care went, it probably was similar to what you described.
I got misgendered at the hrt clinic that was exclusively for lgbts. And the woman even said I "passed and looked good"

If somehow this tranny had been able and allowed to transition when he was younger, by now he'd be like that ex-pooner lady that makes videos crying about how she "killed herself as a teenager" by transitioning (and being allowed to transition) when she was still a dumb, confused kid.

What's your medical training say about handling patients suffering visions, blasted out of their mind on something, schizophrenics in an episode, plain regular nutjobs that come into the ER, etc.? Link me to your rants about the invalidating treatment by doctors/nurses of those while remembering that all those patients have some kind of excuse for their behavior. What's that? We should have a special exception for "rational" patients whose delusions are even stupider and more nonsensical?

But I thought science tm and doctors are on your side? Or is it only the ones who stand to profit from trooning people out / don't want the risk of getting publicly shamed? If trans people had brain cells it would give them food for thought.

The fact that a portion of society can openly talk about mutilating their bodies and being suicidal over minor interactions and then they're not committed but instead encouraged. That tells me everything I need to know that is wrong with the current state of the medical community.
