I know her reputation and what she is but I've never read her stuff before.

I've found actually intelligent people can explain the most complicated of subjects in a way that nearly anyone can grasp, if not fully understand. People like Butler love to use these florid terms and language to disguise the fact that what they're actually saying, is the shallowest most contrived shit imaginable.About what I'd expect from what I know of her, but she's somehow worse than I'd imagined, on top of everything, she's a pretentious Marxist hack.
The funniest thing about this sort of Marxist is these so called Intellectuals were the first people Lenin Gulag'd as they were useless Eaters that lived parasitically off the Worker without giving anything back, and they were a threat to the new Order because they were inveterate schemers who were only happy complaining.

Hard agree. She's deliberately trying to be convoluted because her ideas are so fucking stupid she'd get laughed out if she just stated them straightforwardly.
I used to be amazed people fall for it, but have since realized that most people on social media who claim to have read her books have no idea what's in there, they've just cribbed from Wikipedia.
It's a bit like being trans. She's the godmother of people who identify as intellectuals, but aren't.

Sarah Jane makes an appearance as a speaker at every single trans-themed event held in London. He gatecrashed the Brianna Ghey memorial to talk about how much lesbians liked having sex with him.
Anyway Kiwi On The Beat here, I did indeed attend the Trans Pride Parade. Despite my accolade I am actually more supportive of trans rights than the average Kiwi, but also I'm deep cover from before I peaked... There were a lot of people, it's far bigger than some of the previous ones. The march went from Trafalgar Square to Hyde Park, which is basically the opposite route to the regular Pride Parade that was last weekend. It absolutely pissed it down at points but anyway the estimates of 30,000-50,000 people don't feel that far off. This was the end of the march, at Wellington Arch:
What I don't think is coming through in videos and photos being posted on news sites is a significant bulk of the parade seemed to be allies, which isn't really that surprising, as the UK Census indicated around 0.1% of the population consider themselves trans men and 0.1% trans women, so that's about 96,000 people total (plus another 30,000 non binary).
While I will not sharing my own photos of the occasion due to the risk of self-dox, I have managed to find some photos of some of the notable signs and people I saw thanks to twitter.
Trans celebrities du jour, left to right: Yasmin Finney (Heartstopper, and joining the cast of Doctor Who to play a canonically trans character - not the first, the first was Lady Cassandra, the stretched out skin on a frame), Emma D'Arcy (House Of The Dragon) and Munroe Bergdorf (transgender model, co-founder of Pussy Palace - occasional women and non-binary club night).
Stonewall (and separately) Stonewall Housing made an appearance too - please note the programmer socks.

Here's some more interesting protest signs. A couple of them are actually pretty funny, but some are alarming. I didn't bother seeking out a lot of the ones I spotted since they generally were all along the theme of "trans women are sacred" (tying in with that God Is Trans chant...)
There were a lot of placards calling for the abolition of prisons, police and borders, which isn't surprising. You'll note Sarah Jane had an AntiFa flag too.
I did spot a couple of blåhaj, and also various other cuddly toys and animal ears;
and then a bunch of memes (there was a trans barbie and trans ken, and obligatory JK Rowling references)
The rest are presented without comment;
Sadly I was bereft of the chance of spotting the choob at this protest - I guess now it's gotten bigger, there's no opportunity to take centre stage any more...

If this isn't a fucking troll (and I'm almost sure it is) its shows how fucked up things are, this sort of bullshit would and should have gotten the freak locked in a fucking psychiatric hospital.
