This, pretty much.

Wu is essentially a easy quote, a talking head for journalists to use to fill out their story. She is essentially an Ann Coulter type of personality - a person that lives ontop their soapbox but doesn't really contribute any new or critical thinking to whatever they talk about. Just finger pointing and little else.

Only difference is, as much as I despise the woman, Coulter has enough intelligence to find a captive audience and hold it by being an unapologetic abrasive personality. That is something she can do. Wu on the other hand has constantly tried to put on different airs and titles without anything to back them up except anecdotes and smugness, all the while burning some bridges, while letting other bridges rot while she sits at home berating her sugardaddy husband on Twitter and playing video games.

Worth noting, one of the rare shards of self-awareness Wu has in fiction involves Coulter.

In Socially Unconscious, one thing that sets Holiday apart - a trait that is always portrayed as a negative, but which she's always allowed to do because she's useful otherwise - is that she's a wrongthinker - Holiday's a shameless Republican in the work, and her favorite commentator is a thinly-veiled Ann Coulter expy known as Alyssa Rifte.

It's this trait that actually makes Holiday almost an enjoyable character. If you can ignore the obvious bullshittery going on, the fact that she's allowed to buck her usual friends' political ideology makes her approach tolerable - she's the only one of the cast who does. If her idiocy fucked up more often (like randomly accusing someone of being a spy and then not getting it right, unlike she does in the story), she would have been both funnier and more believable.

You know, what does Brianna offer Frank?

Frank's got big bucks, a good job and connections. Brianna has no skills, talents, redeeming qualities... he doesn't clean up or cook (without the assistance of hipster organizations).

I honestly have no clue. Maybe Frank really is into being cucked by a tranny.

Isn't she old money?

She probably is, though with Frank having a good career and making decent coin himself, I don't think he really needs Wu for cash. He can even finance Wu's personal fantasy of being an important woman in tech.

I dont remember the guy disagreeing with her. When did that happen?
It was at one of her college talks. Some guy stood up and asked her about the good things Gamergate had done. Brianna laughed at him and didn't answer the question, so he pressed her on it then walked out. Brianna got security to follow him out and supposedly suggested that everyone check their bags.

Was old money. She managed to fuck that up a while ago when she was trying to do animation.

My guess would be relevancy, companionship, and desperation.

From what we reportedly know about Frank's past is that he's a bit of a major asshole. Further, his interests lie in the more geeky territory, and as any geek can tell you, if you don't find a good geek pack to roll with, things can be very lonely. Further (and to be borderline racist), Frank's family might have been really railing on him to find a nice wife, keep family traditions (which obviously he failed at).

Frank met Brianna later in his life - late 40s is my timetables are correct. I seriously doubt he was looking for anyone on a physical level- just someone that would put up with his geekery and someone he could bring home to the family so they know he isn't a total waste. As much as it would burn Brianna's ass, I really think she fits the role as a trophy wife (albeit it probably works for Wu to call Frank a trophy husband).

When Gamergate happened, I seriously doubt Frank even gave a rat's ass about it but instead was dragged into it. He had to toddle along with Wu's fanaticism, otherwise he would come off as an uncaring asshole who would let his wife be gangraped by neckbeards wearing skull masks and driving Priuses (Prisuses? Prisi? Whatever). And since the limelight was on her at the time, if he made any dissenting remark, he'd have the whole radfem coalition crucifying him on a telephone pole.

Now, he just puts on a show for Wu. I doubt he even gives this much of a shit about Gamergate or Revolution 60. Wu is just an out to let him play in arcades and act like the manchild he is without looking completely like some mid-50s pederast.

#Rev60Ain'tHappening
#Rev60IsComingSoon ... because we all know what 'soon' means in Wu-Speak.

So the TL;DR is: "Wu is pretty much a pet and Frank gets off on controlling her financially." ?

Isn't she old money?
Her parents have stopped funding her shit after they realized he lacks the talent and the knowledge to use it effectively. It's pretty much the whole reason she hooked up with Frank, he gave her an endless supply of money to spend on all her vanity projects. As for what Frank gets out of it, it's been theorized that he either keeps her around because she's too ugly and awkward to ever leave or cheat on him (a big fear he has with women), or he saw her game as an easy way of getting ritch after seeing all the success of other shitty mobile games.

Well, the second possibility has vanished long before this point.

As another informative by the by.

Blue Apron has basically been doing a lot of advertising with podcasters, twitter folk and youtubers as of late. There was a shout out recently over on MatPatt's Film Theorists advertising Blue Apron at the end of their latest video.

Almost like they know to target lazy new media consumers who don't know how to find and prep fresh food.

One of Wu's biggest problems is that she is incapable of accepting that someone is better than her. She keeps giving herself all these fake positions and just has to be a leading expert on everything. Then, she becomes so full of herself that she starts getting into Twitter arguments with actual experts who proceed to verbally slap the bitch out of her. After getting thrashed, she disengages and makes a couple of catty comments with her dwindling base but the damage is done. I imagine that this is exactly what John Flynt was like in college too - take a couple of courses and suddenly puts on a show of being a master on the subject.

Clinton is not going to reply to anyone, you know fucking no one in the convention, just shut your cave and take your Soylent.

When have you ever taken the high road with anything, Wu? Like just now, when you implied that Bernie and his supporters are going to be assholes?

I really wish Bernie would win, just to witness the massive chimpout Wu would have.

Dear colleagues in gaming: We need to have a chat about what will happen in 6 days when Revolution 60 is not released on Steam. It is unreasonable to expect Kickstarter backers and Patreon donators to take this lightly. We should take the high road and pack up the Race Van for immediate deployment in Boston.

Didn't she shit on Sanders supporters a few times already?
She shits on them every time she goes into the Beltway Insider Wu persona. Even when feigning neutrality, she would passive aggressively dig at them.
