US Single woman’s ‘genius’ tactic to avoid paying for groceries for two years - Gross pan-faced whore ‘could spend my money on other things, like savings, investing or buying a Prada bag.’

With the rising cost of living, it’s no surprise people are pulling out all stops to save money.

One single woman has been hailed a “genius” after she boasted about going on “six dates every week to avoid paying for groceries” over two years.

Vivian Tu, a former Wall Street trader from New York City, explained how she got to enjoy the perks of free dinners after she managed to line up back-to-back dates with men she met on dating apps.

As time went on, the now-28-year-old ended up saving about $A22,100 in 24 months.

“Between 2016 and 2018, I didn’t buy groceries once,” Vivian confessed in an amusing TikTok video.

“Probably saved about $US150 ($A210) a week.”

Poking fun at herself, she joked: “When they say women are bad with money but you used to go on six dates a week to avoid paying for groceries.

“If you dated me between 2016 and 2018, you may be entitled to financial compensation.”

Vivian said she met most of the men on dating apps or when she was out on weekends.

“I was a young woman living in NYC,” she said.

“Did I save money on food by going on dates in my early 20s? Yes.”

“It was a lot of work. And some of those dates were super fun, but others were painful to sit through.

‘Busy investing my money’

“When I was dating more seriously, I’d actually do sober first dates because otherwise I wouldn’t be able to tell if I actually liked them or tequila.

“I was busy investing my money since I wasn’t spending it on food.”

The controversial video was shared on social media in July 2021.

Now one-and-a-half years later, Vivian clarified she “exaggerated” about going out “six nights a week for two years”.

As she was hoping to “find love”, she noticed her weekly spendings on food quickly changed once she started going on back-to-back dates.

“To clarify once and for all, I didn’t start going on dates just for food,” she recently told Elite Daily.

“After actively dating for a while, I knew that for a certain percentage of dates I went on, I wouldn’t be paying. Sometimes we did split the check... but most of the time they would not let me pay, and I’d get to take home the leftovers. I realised that by going on dates, I was saving about $US50 ($A70) to $US100 ($A140) per week.

Saving thousands

“Added together over time, it amounted to thousands of dollars I did not have before - discretionary income I could spend on other things, like savings, investing, and a black Prada bag to replace my tattered Longchamp tote.”

As she was dating in her early 20s, Vivian - who was working as an equity trader earning $A135,000 at the time - said her living expenses were “very high”.

When she shared the video in 2021 about going on six days a week to avoid paying groceries, many weighed in on her financial situation.

“My wife did this with me in college but little did she know marrying my debt would be the ultimate Uno reverse card,” one man joked.

One woman confessed: “Baby I can’t believe someone else did this too - sometimes I’d be double booked.”

‘Work smarter, not harder’

Many described Vivian’s amusing money-saving method as “genius” and “hero”.

“Power moves, girl power,” one said.

Another suggested: “Work smarter, not harder.”

One wrote: “You might be on to something.”

While another added: “Girl. I applaud you. The amount of bulls*** you needed to sit through to get free meals.”

Meanwhile, many women confessed they are all “guilty” of going on dates in exchange for free food.

“I definitely scheduled dates before paydays,” one said, laughing.

Another revealed: “I used to do breakfast, lunch and dinner.”

‘Can’t take a joke’

Not everyone agreed with her tactic, with one saying: “Tell me you’re cheap without telling me you’re cheap.”

However, Vivian quickly responded: “Yikes. Some of y’all really can’t take a joke.”

Vivian started her online educational platform YourRichBFF as a passion project to share her finance secrets.

She has since made a name for herself on social media after being named in the Forbes 30 Under 30 list of 2023.

Elizabeth Short was apparently doing this, and if you aren't familiar to her name, a quick Google will tell you how that ended for her.

Dating for dinner isn't new, or genius, or anything but bog standard poor bitch manipulative shit.
(no men aren't owed your body for dinner either blah blah blah, save me the harpies cry)

Also it tells you something that she thinks groceries = dinner. And none of it especially good.

"I've saved thousands"
It's not exactly saving money when you're taking it out of someone elses pocket by flashing the "pussy pass", whore.

On the flip side, who the fuck would buy this 4/10 roastie dinner to begin with? Whores aren't exactly subtle about what they are.

Have you seen Mark Faceberg? NY is full of yids even less human-looking and -acting than him, with stolen gentile money to burn on sideways gash even uglier than Mrs. Zuckerberg.

The obvious reason the story is an exaggeration is that I think she'd still have needed to have gone grocery shopping every so often for other meals or at least snacks if she's not a full breakfast or lunch kind of person. Maybe she could doggy bag some of the leftovers but I doubt that would cover all of the essential staples.

American style “dating” is weird. Here, if a lassie went out with a guy on Saturday, and then went out with five other boys the same week, the first guy would give her a black eye, not another date. How do you get from the paying-by-the-hour stage of American dating to the long-term-rental-agreement?

"Forbes 30 Under 30 list of 2023"

No reason to brag about that, you have to PAY Forbes for that "honor"

and, looks like she might have nabbed a sucker, with that rock on her finger

She couldn't make it on her own salary? Me thinks she is in the wrong business,
Prostitution may work better.

I used to watch movies from the 40s where the characters would occasionally the females would date for dinner
but this is a completely different level.

Just my own opinion, I hate users. always have and she is one.

Not just fat, but like... weird fat. Dudes must've been desperate.
Love Scammers of both genders can't be too perfect or the mark gets suspicious.
Not necessarily calling her a scammer, but when you are making good money, it's ridiculously cheap behaviour.

"I used and manipulated hundreds of men to get free shit and dumped them shortly afterwards! LMAO!"

Future cat-lady in-waiting.

And then we get women writing articles about how young men are stuck with "Peter Pan Syndrome" and aren't interested in dating or getting married, totally clueless as to why that is. Maybe they just don't want to be taken advantage of by some cheap bitch who cares more about buying luxury handbags than taking advantage of some guy's interest in her? "Some of you guys can't take a joke!" That wasn't a joke, she was just trying to dodge getting called out for being a shallow bitch.

me before clicking on thread: "Orbiters?"

me after clicking on thread: "Yep. Orbiters."

Can you imagine the reaction if a "cis" guy was doing that to girls? Clown World really does want straight men treated like garbage.

Asian women should be made honorary Jews, with their crazy love of saving money.

Men on dating apps either are desperate and think they can find a real relationship or are trying to get laid. The first group will either learn quickly or are too stupid to do so, and the second group are condemnable and deserve what's coming to them (though women on dating apps are hardly better). While her actions aren't commendable, it's hardly the worst thing happening on a regular basis on those cesspit apps. That being said, she is almost certainly manipulating the story to make herself seem more clever then she actually is. I guarantee some of those men she got food from got what they wanted from her as well.
