The IRS thing always sounded like a load of shit, but I'd say he did nothing but fuel the drama even further regarding the show's cancellation and the blackballing of everyone around him.
Why exactly did Charls and Nick end up working day jobs immediately after shit hit the fan? All Sam did was start charging for videos and keep sperging about how the show would've been cancelled either way.

All Charls said was Sam “did what they kept telling him not to do” in his rambling and that didn’t involve twitter shit. That says nothing at all about “exactly what went wrong.”
If Charls is mad about blacklisting he should be blaming the culture of adult swim or the power Bernstein bloggers had. From what I remember part of Charls’ post world piece construction work was still working for Turner networks so he wasn’t exactly kicked out of the company but I imagine they didn’t want to take a chance on another gig for innumerable reasons such as budgeting, maybe Bernstein fallout. They didn’t fucking shitcan Charls over a hydewars episode which seems to be what Sam is implying charls thought.
And if by some chance HW032 is what did it then fuck adult swim AND fuck Charls if he’s implying that Sam talking about how he felt the network not supporting creators and doing shady shit about content is what cost him the gig. Sam absolutely should be allowed to talk negatively about the time there if he’s not working with them anymore. What obligation does Sam supposedly have to others for expressing his own opinions? He didn’t personally say he was speaking for Charls and it wasn’t like they were shopping World Peace to other networks after being dropped or they had NDA shit. Either way this isn’t something you seethe over for years.
Sam’s explanation makes perfect sense of the “reported to the irs” drama, as most people who hire 1099 employees can attest to on some occasions. Charls probably spent everything he got and didn’t save any at all for tax season so ended up with a huge bill and of course tried to throw the blame on Sam. This is why you shouldn’t take a 1099 job if you’re not smart with money.
E: also did Charls seriously think this was actually going to be called “world peace 2” and not just a moniker for a hugely funded effort to make a sketch show? Is so, then lol. If he thinks that it shouldn’t be MDE without him then I don’t think he owns any part of the name and the ball’s in his court if he wants to be part of it again.

I was rewatching Sam's "Blacklisted desperado" and in hindsight it's really obvious Sam was going through some serious mental shit because he sounds even more insane and unhinged then usual. The whole video just comes off as really bitter and the shit he's "exposing" AS on is pretty much just nothing burgers. The best example is him describing a bathroom that has cherubs painting on it as some kind of pedophile dogwhistle. It also has the hilariously unself aware "I can't have my name tied to any weird shit in any way" quote.
You wonder why only zoomers will work with you Sam? Because you did this to your former employer. Your employer who only pulled WP because of pressure from their parent company Time Warner not because they wanted it off the air.

I got the complete opposite out of it. There's no what and why to what Charls has been saying. It's been years of ambiguous or poorly reasoned and generalised seething, which has allowed theories to run wild. Sam, on the other hand, has never looked like he's been lacking transparency on the matter because he's covering up a guilty conscience, but because he's a private person.

Charles said that he didn't speak on the fallout for years in order to protect MDEs legacy and I think that's something Sam was doing as well. It's a respectable position to take. Personally I don't care what happened and hope they both stop speaking about it because it's gay. Charles also said that nobody from WP was allowed back "into the industry" unless it was part of a project with Sam but I think that's a cope. For one thing, when were they in the "industry" before WP? A solid zero times. Charles has been making his weird little schizo vids starting right around the time WP was cancelled. I don't think he's ever really stopped. I've seen him rebrand at least three times and I don't think it's ever really paned out. Ruse hasn't had a problem staying in the industry. He's doing music videos for platinum selling musicians. Maybe Charles and Hayden aren't that talented or funny? Maybe they aren't putting in enough effort? Maybe they're not that different from the other millions of people trying to make a name for themselves in an incredibly competitive and gay industry that requires you to get on your knees and beg for a crumb everyday. That image is so far away from what MDE stood for and I really can't respect someone who wines about not being successful in Hollywood.
If he wants to be relevant again maybe he should go put on some gloves and get in the ring while playing a ridiculous character. It's actually insane to me that he's being offered a chance to come back and make some content and money after basically falling completely off and he's whining about it. If he hates Sam that badly and believes it's a matter of protecting his dignity so be it, but to act insulted at the opportunity is retarded.

It absolutely wasn't a bit. Go rewatch the video and look at Sam's eyes and demeanor he is being painfully serious while cracking jokes to break the tension like he always does. He also included advertiser contact info in the description to try and get Tim's show pulled from AS. It's bitterness and anger not a bit.
