Everyone talks about how the dark web is this "scary," place when it really isn't.
Most sites ever mentioned to be "scary dark web sites," have always been on the surface web.

Which begs the question, what is the scariest surface web sites you know?

What makes a website scary to begin with?

Down the line, a scary website is only relatively scary. What some people dread, others enjoy tremendously or are indifferent to.

I can see how trannies could find this website scary for example. It does not objectively make it a scary website.

For myself, I am guessing that if I ever have to be on the website of an hospital or a funeral home, they automatically would qualify.

The normal definition of dark web is a website not indexed by search engines, so Facebook is. I've no account, so I've no clue what happens in there, but I see the news articles about livestreamed suicides, murders, and other things. It's known Facebook keeps tabs on people without accounts, so similar to Kiwi Farms, but the violence and whatnot really elevates it above the rest in terms of bad nature.

I pirate a lot of things online, which means I'm on a lot shady websites. Every now and then when downloading a torrent I'll see another torrent nearby named something like 'CP' or 'Kiddie'. Even though it's a good chance most of them are just troll posts and don't contain anything bad, it sends a chill down my spine nonetheless.

Also I think it's gone now, but teen dating site MyLOL. That place was a playground for pedophiles.

Twitter has done more damage to society than any dark web website to ever exist. That's pretty scary to me.

Honestly though? For me it was probably liveleak. I absolutely hate and am disgusted by that kind of content. It's the type of stuff that would easily ruin my day and stick in my mind just a bit too long.

Never understood why Liveleak got such a reputation. For the last decade or so of its existence it tried to brand itself as some kind of news site. Even in the early years it was probably the tamest gore site around.

I've always found theYNC to be uniquely fucked. Something about the subtle blending of hardcore gore and amateur pornography they've got going on over there gets under my skin more than the average shock site does.
