from Tim pools video on why a make up company would sponsor troons at the expense of women
Basically. Makeup culture is already controversial among women for how it plays on our insecurities. Brands are trying to keep up and sell it differently as empowering, or artistic, and that means celebrating even objectively gross-looking people as beautiful, which gasses them up and convinces them it's fine to splurge because it's fun.

That also explains why people like Jeffree Star and James Charles become the face of makeup brands. They're not "victims" of makeup culture, they're just people who want to be here, and they make it feel less problematic.

I waste a lot of money at Ulta, so I'm not saying one way or the other if it's bad, it's just that there's been a noticeable difference in marketing over the past 10 years, and this is just the latest example.

You see it in adverts for shaving products as well. Women’s razor adverts seem to have gone from “buy our razors because they’ll shave your legs really well and make you pretty“ to “your body hair, your choice! But if YOU want to shave it all off with a razor, buy ours because they’re the best and this advert about empowerment totally shows that we see you as a human being and not potential money for our bank account”. I’m genuinely surprised I haven’t seen a troon in one of those woke razor adverts tbh

You can see the conditioning breaking in real time. Real women angrily voice their disgust with the patronizing sight of dudes in womanface, and all the company's social media NPC can do in response is hilariously malfunction, giving a patronizing, scripted response to a self-evidently moronic marketing ploy.

"You're misinterpreting your own opinion". It's Clown World in a snapshot.

Archives, yo, including the twitter account of the bearded slutty clown that interviews Dill. The absolute radiating smugness of two delusional male homosexuals when pandered to in their shallow narcissistic fantasies of being better women than women. Forgive the graphic imagery for effect when I say: doubt shitstabbing as a feminine pursuit, lads.

Oh God the bearded dude, in a wig, with the deep man voice. I was not anticipating that at all. Ulta, what the fuck is wrong with you?

The Daily Mail's picked it up and as with so much of what they do, it's a masterclass in scathing masked as mild concern. 10/10. [Tweet | Article]

On Twitter there's the bare minimum of bluecheck pro-Dylan comments, only a couple of the expected crossover cows. And you know Jess is coming in hot, which is always a fun time. [Tony Reed thread / @ErinInTheMorn | Alex Caraballo thread / @Esqueer_ | Jess / @slxthkween]

I think what's really helping is he's not just a Stunning and Brave Woman of Trans, but he's actually sat there dressed like Mary Tyler Moore for his interview. It's making more normies pause and go "wait, what the fuck"

I abhor influencers. It is the most useless profession — a worker who spends his or her days shoveling shit has more nobility than an influencer. The sheer audacity Dylan has here to ask for free furniture when nearly a third of households in America are headed by single women who struggle to pay rent, put food on the table, clothes on their children’s backs, and manage increasing expenses without a suitable rise in pay nor subsidized childcare or paid time off, shows how little he resembles an actual woman. How did we even get here, where a man who does nothing useful is rewarded in this way?

I am boycotting every single brand that works with him.
imo, sponsoring influencers/YouTubers/etc. is a massive red flag across the board. They're taking advantage of the parasocial relationship creators have with their fans to seem more "authentic" (for lack of a better word.

Someone posted a tweet earlier in this thread of Dylan saying he was unhappy as a man and is now happy being a woman girl. The thing is, Dylan genuinely looks happier in his before pictures. His smile looks more natural and less grotesquely forced. But theater twinks are a dime a dozen. Sexist sleep paralysis demons disguised as women, however...

Most lolcows were bullied in school. Horribly, even. It'll always be natural for some kids to end up alienated for being weird, but to say "bullying" is good is to underestimate the extent of sadistic child-on-child cruelty.

Anyway, I'm not sure that the Ulta Twitter replies indicate a mass peaking so much as they show that trans representation isn't groundbreaking anymore, isn't a good prop to hold up for progressive claps anymore. Anyone willing to accept trans women as women has already done so by now and doesn't care to hear more about it. Even the trans minority is done thanking advertising and media for representing them. (Olly Thorn, according to an article linked in the PhilosophyTube thread, said he's seen so many TV shows try to include well-informed trans representation only to decide to scrap it in production.)

So this interview does nothing for the supportive side - but it does stir up the ones who've been fed up all along. May this serve as a lesson thenceforth.
Yeah I was mostly memeing I don't literally believe that more bullying at school would prevent creatures like this.
Bullying outside school would certainly get him to keep his sick fetishes to himself however, so it certainly had its place.
The biggest problem our society had is abandoning the concept of shame.
Shame serves a cohesive force in keeping communities together and prevent moral degradation and disintegration, the day we stopped making these faggots afraid to speak out and parade their sick degenerate perversions is the day we set ourselves on course for Drag Queen Story Hour, Desmond is Amazing, HRT for Kids and all the other sick fucking Slaanesh tier shit on display at "Pride" parades and online.
As a society we have lost ourway.
If the Pope and other religious leaders had any balls they would announce a new Inquisition, not be pandering to this shit.

The fact that Ulta would think using Dylan in a marketing campaign isn’t surprising. The fashion and beauty industry is filled with bitter gay queens who really hate women and love mocking them.

Dylan is their people. Women are a joke to them, hiring Dylan was just a mask off moment.

There is a huge difference between bullying outside of school and having moral expectations. Plenty of bullying happens among adults, there is plenty of out of school bullying that progressives do, yet we're still degrading. I don't think we should accept progressivism in our lives, but we need more change than introducing shaming; something which progressives already use and is in our culture somewhat.

I can't believe Ulta partnered with him. Not because he's trans, I expected they'd do this shit eventually, but because he is TERRIBLE AT MAKEUP.

Case in point: the infamous crying video.

Green sparkly eyeshadow with PURPLE METALLIC LIPSTICK and coral blush. I genuinely believe this dude is colourblind or insane. Or both.
He's a shitty ambassador for Ulta. It's also a bad look that they had two men on a podcast discussing womanhood. They could've at least had a female host.

Problem is, there aren't many alternatives to Ulta other than Sephora, and the Sephora rewards program is fucking ass. You might get a small sample or two if you're lucky. Ulta has good sales, rewards and more options (I believe some brands are still Ulta-exclusive). This boycott won't last very long.

Dylan makes an announcement about his chest filling out.
I guess I was wrong about him not being on hormones at all. Then again, he could be stuffing his chest a little, but I feel like if he were to do that he would go way overboard and it would be too obvious.

Problem is, there aren't many alternatives to Ulta other than Sephora

Sephora Is Supporting Trans People With Its Latest Campaign And Collection

The company continues to take a stand for trans inclusion with a new video and collection that supports trans people and LGBTQ organizations.

BY TATUM DOOLEY
JUNE 6, 2019
Transgender rights are being threatened across the globe but we're happy to report that Sephora is taking a stand for trans inclusion with their recent ad campaign, We Belong to Something Beautiful.

While the company came under fire earlier this week for racially profiling SZA and ultimately shut down their stores for an hour of diversity training, the campaign comes at a critical time — not only is June Pride Month in the United States, but at the end of May, the US government rolled back protections put in place by the Obama administration that banned discrimination against transgender medical patients. This means that the already vulnerable group are even more at risk. Even more recently, two transgender women were murdered in Texas, pointing to a much larger problem of violence targeting trans people.

Subtler forms of discrimination against trans people happen daily, including slurs, misgendering, and denied service. These are symptoms of larger issues that lead to the normalization of trans people’s personhood being denied. And this is why it’s important for allies, including companies and brands, to loudly and publicly announce their support for transgender people (and follow up on these campaigns by providing inclusivity training for staff).

In 2016, Sephora began providing in-store make-up classes and online tutorials specifically geared towards transgender people and people transitioning. “To see a company cater to the trans and queer community not as token models in one-off beauty campaigns, but in centering us as essential to their community is a relief,” Arabelle Sicardi wrote in an article about Sephora’s class offerings for them. “By employing trans people and providing them resources through which they can help themselves and their customers, they’re showing that beauty and politics are linked, all the time, and sometimes wonderfully,” they continued.

As makeup is intimately connected to how we look and feel about ourselves, and how people perceive us, Sephora’s latest campaign, which is directed by Matt Lambert, who is known for his work with the LGBTQ community, is the first ad in connection with its new Belong campaign. Titled "Identify as We", the video has beautiful cinematography and features transgender, genderqueer, and non-binary models including Aaron Philip, Hunter Schafer, and Fatima Jamal.

According to the brand, the ad is part of a new, multi-chapter platform meant to celebrate, "different forms of diversity and inclusion in beauty". The “Identify as We” launch also includes a new “Trans is Beautiful” group within the online Beauty Insider Community while this month, Sephora is also introducing its first-ever “SEPHORAHeartPRIDE” collection, featuring ten branded offerings that celebrate and support PRIDE. Going one step further, Sephora will donate $1 to support LGBTQ organizations for every product sold (the company says it is working Tides Foundation to coordinate the donations).

It’s imperative for stores like Sephora to be safe places for transgender, people transitioning, and queer people to access beauty products without experiencing discrimination. Accordingly, the ad begins: They, she, ze, he, we. We belong to something beautiful. We’re happy to see the company fighting for some of society's most vulnerable to feel a greater sense of belonging in an often hostile world.

Just In: Sephora's Launching a Beauty Class for the Transgender Community

written by MAYA ALLEN UPDATED ON JUN 28, 2019 08:34AM EDT

Sephora announced the latest addition to its Classes for Confidence series, which is a beauty program to empower those going through transitional stages in life. The very first of its kind, this one is dedicated to Bold Beauty for the Transgender Community. It's curated specifically for nonbinary and transgender individuals who want a more customized beauty routine. The class is all about equipping you with confidence to live your best life. In an effort to promote beauty as a powerful tool of confidence, in June 2018 Sephora is offering 90-minute interactive workshops led by Sephora instructors who come from the same communities.

The classes are curated to help each participant feel comfortable in a personalized beauty and skincare routine to fit their needs. The workshops will involve things like makeup application tips to create the smoothest textures, how to find shades for your skin tone, and specialized skincare.

"Sephora Stands is dedicated to supporting diversity and inclusion in all of its social impact programming," Corrie Conrad, head of social impact and sustainability for Sephora, said in a press release. "We stand with all members of the LGBTQA community and are committed to providing these individuals with the tools they want to feel confident and beautiful every single day. At Sephora, we believe beauty is yours to define, and ours to celebrate. We are honored to be a beacon of support and a part of each beauty journey through our new class offering.”

Not able to make a class? Don't worry you can catch them on YouTube. Sephora's transgender advisors will be vlogging all of their tips and tricks for LGBTQA community members. Tune in to a class so an expert can guide you on how to find your customized Sephora beauty regimen.

Sephora did it first.

So many troons feel the need to re-live their childhoods as girls because they 'missed out' or whatever but I'm telling you right now you need to get over it. It's never going to be cute. You look retarded.

It's especially gross because most women don't get to experience stereotypical, western, middle-class, "girlhoods," with Barbies, rainbows, and a safe home for their friends to spend the night in. Watching Dylan "relive" his childhood as the "girl" he was meant to be makes me sick... plenty of women missed out on a real childhood and you don't see them running around toy stores as adults, trying to make up for what they lost. 25 year old women also don't refer to themselves as girls. Bring on the 🎩 but Dylan is a tone-deaf tranny and the women who support him are fucking retarded and a disgrace to their own sex.

I feel like this whole thing would've gone over infinitely better if they'd at least picked a trans woman who was a few years into their transition. Dylan's been a "girl" for less than a year. Get a natal female to host and get a guest who's got some experience transitioning. Have them compare their experiences of being women.

An adult can find ways to maturely experience aspects of their childhood that they missed out on. PL: I mentioned before that I'm the same age as Dylan and collect dolls. I own 500+ dolls. Yeah, they're childish and silly, But they're pretty and I like them. If you didn't know me or I didn't explicitly tell you, you'd never know that I collect dolls. That's because I enjoy my hobby on my own and don't shove it down everyone's throats. It's entirely possible to experience parts of your childhood without being a fucking spaz about it.

This is the one tranny thread I can't check on my rolladex of troons. His tranny mockery of me and all women goes beyond words. We need stronger slurs kiwis. Stronger to soothe my feelings.
