The Last of Us Franchise - Because it's apparently a franchise now. This thread has been double-DMCA’d by Sony Interactive Entertainment.

They took out the tranny side mission, bro. The one where he helps the dude become a woman.
My guess would be that Twitter would have gone ape shit over that and to save the headache they took that mission out. On the plus side, no tranny mission in the remaster so, plus.

"Declining" to give refunds. Huh. Wasn't aware they had the option in some places in the world. Are they selling this tripe in the EU? That "no refunds" policy is probably not going to fly over there. Ah well, there's always the mighty chargeback. Nothing says "should have given me a refund, asshole" louder than clawing your money back and sticking them with a $20-$30 chargeback fee.

Of course, invoking that weapon of last resort generally means giving up any kind of business relationship you have with the company in question (so buh-bye PSN account if you were dumb enough to buy this through it) and these soys have no willpower to bring themselves to part with that link to papa Cuckman.

Dude, we got dropped because of Twitter tards going ape. That's never a good reason.
And yet it seems to work so often. Terrible reasons, all the way down.

As someone so sick of troons that I'm happy for even mentions of them to be removed, what does it actually mean for this one side mission? Because describing it as helping someone troon out makes it seem like it being gone makes the game  better.

The game is about making humanity's life worse. The dude's entire life is ruined, his wife leaves him and he even makes a comment about how "At least we don't have kids."

If I remember it right anyways, been awhile since I played it.

EDIT: Actually it's pretty amusing the goal of the game is to make humanity miserable and that seems to be the goal of Druckmann here too. Make you miserable playing his game.

Ah. I was wondering how taking out the troon mission could be seen as a bad thing. Sounds like they've realised they would get pushback for saying that trooning out is ever a bad thing in Current Year and decided it wasn't worth the hassle. Which, as you point out, is a terrible reason, but if it's also just a one-off side mission I can sympathise with not wanting to deal with that shit.

Though they should have kept it in. If for no other reason than troons never seem to go after the things that actually reasonably can be interpreted as going against their narrative in media. Especially if it's not the biggest, most obvious target for consooming. Who cares if trooning out ruins a guy's life in a smaller game's remaster, when CP2077 is nebulously transphobic in a way that can't ever be explained, but you should still hate it or you're murdering the same trans community who played the game slavishly?

You are not wrong. Cuckmann even stated that his driving force when writing the game was to make the game be "Anti-fun" and to make the player miserable while playing it. My guess would be that Cuckmann thought that would have made him be "profound" and "thought provoking". There are plenty of great works that are depressing. 1984, Animal Farm, Brave New World, Heart of Darkness, Lonesome Dove, etc. However, there were a few things that made these writers masters of their craft and Neil a hack and that is:
  1. They didn't insert their fucking degenerate fetishes in their works.
  2. The morals and messages of their stories were ones that humans can relate to.
  3. We actually like many of the characters in these works that I mentioned.
  4. The characters struggles in these books are ones that humans can sympathize with.
  5. The characters in these books feel like real people and not self inserts.
No human being who isn't a terminally online Twitter user with their list of mental illnesses on their bio can relate to Ellie or Abby. There is nothing about them that makes the average human understand them and their struggles. They are just self inserts of Neil's ideology and fetishes. If Neil made the Last of Us 2 as a book and it came out 70 years ago he would have been one of the biggest laughing stocks in the literately world. Tolkien and C.S Lewis would have had contests where they would see who can read Neil's work the longest without laughing. Now in today's postmodern world Neil is considered a genius and "the master storyteller of our generation." If that doesn't tell you how dumb and far we have fallen as a species I don't know what will.

God the HBO shots look pathetic. When cosplayers can do a better styling/costuming job than you, it's just fucking sad.

I love how this has become a badge of honour for people doing adaptations.

They think that not playing/reading/watching the source material will make their product "purer" when in reality it will most likely just miss the mark badly with the tone/feel of the finished product. Then they'll wonder why the people who are fans of the game/book/original move or show end up hating their version.

Inevitably it gets blamed on sexism/racism or transphobia because it can't possibly be that they have created something than no one wanted.

Have to say, the PvP mode of TLoU:R still holds up. The gameplay is tactical and always in flux, and the events force you to go outside your comfort zone.

You have to love the inbound narcissism and laziness with this mindset. God forbid they look into some of the restrictions of a work and interpret it as a challenge. Also always hilarious because these cretins tend to be hacks with not even a third of the talent or ability to write, and their selfishness means they only write for themselves.

It's the audience who pays for the physical product that are wrong. Ignore that the liquidity from product are used to pay off investors and having this mindset makes you act like a ponzi scheme but dumber.

Incestuous fags think video games are "below" them while at the same time vying to get cast in the next disposable capeshit and/or Star Wars movie. News at 11.

At this point the whole "We didn't play the source material (and that's a good thing (and here's why))" shtick is the biggest red flag for these adaptions. Again, the same exact thing happened with the Halo show and it was one of the biggest pieces of shit ever.

It never ceases to amaze me how blind these people are to the fact saying they don't know the source material just screams they aren't good stewards of a property.

Most of the time, if they just changed a bunch of names around to be its own distinct thing, it legitimately would be better simply because it's not coming off as trying to leech quality off of already popular entries.

The problem is that these hacks know on some level they wouldn't be able to succeed without this parasitism. It's kind of why they get so vicious and pissed when people dunk on their lack of talent and delude themselves into pretending it's artistic that they fucked up breaking or using story telling rules.

I'm fine with it from the actors, because they actually do have to worry about imitation over performance and just copying someone else. But all the behind the camera creatives should be talking about how they're fans, otherwise they're basically announcing that they couldn't give a shit about what people will be coming to their adaptation to see.

Creatives coming up against the realities of trying to make a profitable entertainment property has been around forever. But with Current Year, what used to be diplomatically phrased explanations about how they couldn't do what they wanted because the suits had demands that they think fucked them over, has turned into a defiant justification of their process where the audience are the ones to blame if they don't like it, even if it turns out the changes weren't their idea in the first place. Funny how wokeness always ends up with the mega-corps these types ostensibly are fighting against getting far less responsibility and blame for a shit product than the ordinary people who are expected to consume said product, isn't it.

What's funny is most of the time what they make might actually be better if it wasn't attached to an existing franchise. Case in point: that awful Powerpuff abomination that completely shits on everything good about the original. If they stripped off the PPG connection and turned into a The Boys style deconstruction about child superheroes/idols in general, it might actually have a niche market appeal.

Unfortunately for The Last Of Us, the source material itself is tainted to the core thanks to Druckmann fucking the sequel.
