This makes me MATI. Imagine generously donating your own or your loved one's tissue, wanting to help people and hoping for some comfort in that knowledge. Imagine how harrowing it is to know your loved one is being chopped up for parts, but you tell yourself it can't hurt them any more and lots of people will be healed or even saved by this loving gift.

Organ donation is different from tissue donation, skin comes from tissue donation. In the UK they are two separate registers.

• Organs are the internal organs like the heart, liver, intestines, lungs etc that must be removed while the patient's body is still on a ventilator (although one kidney can be given while alive),
• You have to be brain dead and on life support to be an organ donor, with good quality organs.
• Certain genes have to match between donor and recipient.

• Tissue includes things like skin, heart valves, ligaments, corneas, bone and amniotic membranes (donated during planned C-sections)
• Tissue can be donated 24 hours or sometimes up to 48 hours after death.
• Most people can donate tissue, there are few eligibility restrictions.
• You don't need to die in hospital
• There doesn't need to be a special genetic match between donor and recipient

I'm not an expert, but I have read the SRS/GRS horror thread, and I don't remember anyone using cadaver skin. Which, you're right, it seems like, if it were optimal, it would be vastly preferred, rather than flaying your arms or using your own colon. Just how experimental is this revision he's getting?

I imagine you might be able to patch bits and pieces with corpse skin but after it's been paaturised it doesn't have the capillary and nerve system to support large structures

I imagine using it goes something like branching off capillaries and maybe using stem cells to try and grow in a circulatory system
Tbf the amount of rotting pockets and arm sausages out there speaks to how effective even the regular surgery is

I'd also love to know how they plan to prevent rejection, since giving Kevin with a revised rotpocket immunosuppressants probably counts as attempted murder
