Venus owes Margo nothing. Margo owes Venus a lot, both figuratively and literally. But I doubt she'll ever see a penny of what she's owed.
 
Venus has mentioned that she wants to make a calendar or some small trinkets that she can sell to her fans.
In the past Margo made a fundraiser to help save Venus from "the industry". The big prize was a worn out pair of shoes. It only raised 300$ and people acussed her of exploiting her daughter.
 
One thing I'm worried about is that she was so isolated, she doesn't really know how to deal with people, especially people who might not have her best interests at heart.
 
As a former child abuse victim who also did get away, watching Venus's story unfold is heart wrenching. I know from experience that breaking free from the cycle is incredibly hard. I sincerely hope Venus has a good support network of sound minded adults in her vicinity. She will need that. She will need for normal adults to encourage her and to have faith in her.

She has been oppressed, abused and isolated. Even though she is free right now, fear works silly ways and she is not out of the waters yet. Her psycho of a mom is using guilt and shaming in an attempt to regain her control over her. And as a child? You can hate your mother, but that doesn't rule out loving them as well, feeling sorry for them and feeling guilty of leaving. Margo is a piece of shit who should be locked in a psychiatric hospital for her safety and that of Venus's.

Stay strong Venus, you can do it.. Your childhood wasn't your fault and your future's up to you!

From memory it's relatively easy to get a visa for Japan - it's getting it extended which can be difficult and/or making money while you're there.

It's not necessarily going to be easy for Venus, either, which is probably what her mother is counting on.

It's not easy at all, actually. She's too old for the working holiday visa, she would need a Japanese company to sponsor her for a normal work visa and she's obviously not getting a spouse visa or a student visa.
Without visa, she can stay in Japan up to three months, though. That's a lot of time, unfortunately...

Venus could get a spouse visa if she gets married to her boyfriend (he's a Japanese citizen, right?).

It would be hard for Margo to get a visa unless she could get work lined up or a husband (I poked around japancupid to see if she might have a profile but got bored).

Venus calls Manaki her husband, if they are married it is a pretty easy, if annoying, process to get a spouse visa. Not sure which country she is a citizen of (UK?) but for the visa she will probably have to go back to the country she is a passport holder of, apply for a spouse visa through the Japanese embassy in her country, they send her passport to Japan to get the spouse visa sticker, it is sent back to her (either to the embassy or you can pay for an envelope so it is sent directly to your place), then she is all good to go to go back.

It takes about two weeks for the passport to get back to you. That is if she doesn't already have the visa. If she does need to do it this way the biggest issue would likely be funds to make the trip back and forth if that is how her country does it. Sadly I am not sure she would have anyone to stay with if she did have to go back :(

I guess she started pressuring Venus to divorce him when it became clear she was slipping out of Margo's control?
 
Poor Venus. No one should have to deal with abuse like this. Threatening to take down her youtube is one thing (some parents probably should kick their kids off youtube) but to say stuff like "you'll be brought to Hungry and became a homeless Hungarian prostitute" is fucked up. Making up lies to try and slander/libel your own daughter is fucked up. The fact that you try and put the thought that your daughter's husband is cheating on her with hundreds of young underaged girls is also fucked up.

Long story short, Margo is just fucked up and I'm so happy for Venus that she's trying to escape that hell.
 
Google says it's a UK thing. Sounds like if you report a crime there you're given a card with your case number, police contact info, and other "here's stuff you should know as a crime victim" info. All it really seems to prove is that she's talked to the cops.
 
What crime has been committed? Your brainwashed kid breaking her programming and deciding to be her own person isn't a crime. Neither is people calling you on your shit.

No, this was a while back, about 3 years or so-- she claimed she was being ~cyberbullied by some Chinese YouTuber after Margo harassed her in the first place.
 
I can't believe Margo playing the Victim card... literally.

Anyway, words cannot express how happy I am that Venus is being so strong in this kind of situation. Its hard to just give up everything that you know and start new, especially when this everything is your own mother. I hope Venus pulls through and does start leading the happy life she deserves.
 
Never knew the Victim Card was an actual, physical item. You learn something new everyday.
