I laugh at more about shit on this website than the laughter Sam produces lately. Without this site I might not have known about the feud with idubbbz, or at least how hilariously retarded it all was. Though I do think he is funny and Wine Party might be my all time favorite sketch ever.
For me it goes
Null > Sam Hyde > idubbbz > Anisa

That’s because most of the good classic MDE stuff was written by Charls and Nick. Sam had a part in it sure, but his contribution was more about being the guy who “doesn’t afraid of anything” getting up in people’s faces and making them uncomfortable. As far as who was the galaxy brain behind the actual sketches, not just the man-on-the-street stuff, I’d give the majority of the credit to Charls with Nick being the guy who made the connections, got the funding and got shit done. Sam gets way more credit for the MDE days than I think he deserves (though he does deserve some credit, just not ALL of it), probably because he’s the loudest of the bunch and demanded the most attention.

The OP and few first pages are bad because this thread was moved from a different board when it was first featured on MATI. It definitely needs a redo though.
 
What is classic MDE though? For some people that's like Tissue Box and College Cunts, even stuff like Officer Maggot and Moms were late in the game. I do like their man on the street stuff like the Williamsburg Hipsters and Whips but from what I remember following them pre-World Peace, they apparently hated that stuff themselves.

I tried watching those influenced by MDE that do the man on the street shit like Brandon Buckingham, but it just felt rehashed and stuff you'd cringe at once you get past a certain age.

I get why the genre is difficult after recognition and there's only so many places these people can go to yearly without it getting stale. I only like Andrew Callighan/Channel 5 that currently does that kind of stuff, but I have a soft spot since he was doing "Quarter Confessions" when I was living in New Orleans at the time, which made for a lot of local memes of the idiots on Bourbon street; it was a part of the little insular culture in that city for the time he was doing it. Even he's trying to parlay more into more serious kind of stuff which I respect. The Japanese version called Konbini Confessions is okay if only for seeing it done in a different culture, it's a lot more light-hearted and reminds me of how the old Quarter Confessions was a bit.

Joe Goes was okay back in the day, I kinda wish she kept it going after trooning out just to see the interactions with older conservative types and probably the first trans person they've seen in real life. Seems like she is happier out of the spotlight though.
 
the idea of sam hyde is funny. He is funny within a certain context, which is when he is triggering people. If you can see Sam and an audience of people at the same time, that's funny. On his own, he's not funny, he's just weird. But watching other people made uncomfortable by his presence? fucking hilarious
 
is the excuse for the podcast being so late that they edit it down to get rid of dead air? The newest PGL from yesterday is discussing the Johnny Depp trial. You're telling me 5 soundcloud wiggers can't get out a podcast in less than a month? I enjoy PGL but it is eerie how so many of the episodes are identical. Funny rants about killing people, tik toks, google image searching exotic cars. How is this supposed to go on for more than a year?

I don't agree. I subbed to his gumroad for the first time a couple months ago and I've just been going through the PGL podcasts. The podcast discussion is entertaining enough to warrant 50 bucks to download all that shit that's available. PS. I like Null's content a lot. I don't understand the thought process of pick between the two. Young people are retarded.
