Late to the party but I was surprised to learn The New Pill wasn't Sam's official clip channel. I watched like two or three of his vids and just assumed from the editing style it was Sam's and didn't think too much about it. He's a total dunce for passing on Sam's offer.

On Sam himself I gotta agree with Null. I subbed to Hyde's Gumroad a while ago and dropped my subscription after just a month or two. On the rare occasions I'll tune into a podcast or a stream, I'd like it to be something I can put on and listen to in the background while I'm doing something else. I found his unedited vids just tedious as hell to sit through - most of his guests weren't interesting and his format's all over the fucking place. He's trying to wear way too many hats at once and it shows. Wading through an hour and a half of rambling to get maybe five to ten minutes of value isn't my idea of a good time. It feels too much like sitting quietly at a bar table with a bunch of guys who've known each other for years and have their own in-jokes and shit (which to be fair to Hyde, most "dudes talking about whatever"-style podcasts tend to be, which is why I don't really like podcasts in the first place).

From what I could tell from a cursory glance over New Pill's clipshows and comment section, seems to me a lot of Hydeheads are in the same boat as Jordan "Wash your penis, clean your room" Peterson's fans; they're looking for some kind of father figure to help them sort their shit out. But instead of an internet daddy, Sam's appeal is that he's the cool, eternally disinterested older brother that shares his weed and rants about how fucking stupid women are.

I thought New Pill was Sam's account as well but I am not the biggest Sam Hyde viewer. I find Sam's early stuff hilarious and views on comedy much needed in bland and sanitized modern comedy but I can see his hubris limiting his potential and making him very difficult to work with.

Reading more of your posts, the understanding on why you are retired staff. It is clearly satire.... this is the Sam Hyde thread.... The New Pill videos may be fair use. Checking one of the videos and he has edits in them and mashes clips in a clever way. It isnt just Tea Clips clipping, Sargon's case, while in the UK, set a loose standard for fair use.


Why would anyone listen to Sam Hyde? He is the child of old money rich jewish yankees and telling young men they cant get ahead and will be felted by taxes. Which granted taxes are terrible but a trust fund kid telling you, that trying to get further in your career is pointless because your taxes increase as well. I mean the advice on not renting and investing is good, but anyone can tell you this.

Imagine ever being willing to let another man liquidate you, and roll you up into HIS business for a measly 54K salary. Have some self respect for fucks sake, money is just made up bullshit anyway. Sam Hyde came up to this guy and said "Hey, stop working for yourself and stop building your vision, and instead be one of my editors for a barely middle-class existence." I don't even think it was that based to turn him down, I think it's pretty easy to stick to your guns, be true to yourself, and take the correct path here. Apparently he's focusing on his main/other channel now, good for him, but that video he posted was very very gay. Good instincts on archiving that, he'll be deleting it within the day.

By the way, it wasn't Mullen who took the clip channels down. It was a bunch of Vietnamese and Arabic channels falsely copyright striking them and then reuploading the clips on their own channels. They did it to other comedy podcasts too. It's strange. You'll see these tiny channels uploading hundreds of videos in their shitty third-world language and getting no views, then they suddenly pivot to uploading clips and patreon content from the big comedy podcasts.

Idk why everyone is wondering if Sam is going to fight Boogie. I'd love to see it but there's no way boogie would step into the ring - or even a gym for longer than five minutes.

Anyway, Sam is officially fighting someone on Aug 27. It's against some YouTuber named IAMTHMPSN. All I know about him is he plays violin with OF girls. Seems pretty irrelevant but I could be wrong.
