How convenient! Just in time for Trudeau to pass some britabong/Aus gun laws and ban private ownership completely.

Government got too antsy over the Trucker's Freedom Convoy, so time to start stripping away any threats the people can pose against an unjust government.

Convenient timing, since the gov't only just announced the fertilizer restrictions, and this will push any kind of farmers' protest right out of the news.

Shootings with actual bodycounts can only be deployed in primarily white rural locations. They wouldn't want serious damage in Langley, a Chinese "student" might get grazed and get so scared he doesn't 'invest' by buying 10 houses this year.
 
The casino must factor into the motive given the time of day and the fact that there doesn't seem to be anything else that attracts crime around that area. Other than the junkies, of course.

Disregard this I have a better schizo theory now.

For the most part, they are. The general rule of thumb is that anything specifically built to murder other human beings is illegal in Canada, but recently that's also started including hand guns because that's the knee-jerk reaction from the Libs following some mass shooting that didn't even happen here.
I highly doubt Canada will ever go full Engerland just because a lot of people in the interior and the territories still have to hunt more than just recreationally, but the chance of the average person being able to hold on to firearms easily nowadays is not looking likely.
Then they'll ban knives, and then they'll try to make the fist categorized as a lethal weapon.
 
Something interesting that I found looking around the area on Maps: there's a Labour Unlimited pretty much in the center of it. They're a temp labor outfit with locations throughout the lower mainland and most of their workers are barely-functional addicts, headcases and general fucking weirdos. They would definitely be open from 5:30 AM onwards.

Explains the hour, the appearance of the shooter and the perforated junkies pretty well, I'd say. Might be our guy got ripped off for drugs recently and decided to go on tilt. Or maybe he got sick of stepping over them while he went to work for his $90/day. Or maybe they weren't homeless people at all but other workers (it can be hard to differentiate between homeless and an LU worker because they're often one in the same).

I'm fairly confident that whatever happened, the LU had something to do with it and I wouldn't be surprised to find out that everyone involved worked there. I've half a mind to call them and ask.

LU is under the pin, between two thrift stores. Strip malls and casinos aren't really prime homeless territory but I'll admit I don't know Langley too well.

The homelessness and vagrancy issue has been growing in Langley these last few months, and those residents really don't like the homeless in their neighbourhoods. I'm fairly certain this is someone that snapped and lost it if it's not related to Brothers Keepers.
