Good news everyone, Lucinda is alive!

Could the cardiac arrest be from malnourishment?
It has to be, that’s one of the biggest risks of severe anorexia.

I’m glad she’s alive but if she had a cardiac episode so severe that she needs a pacemaker now with how young she is……the damage is already done and she’s most likely on borrowed time.

Her organs are starting to fail, fucking hell Lucinda accept treatment please.

A lot of the "older" anorexics end up with heart trouble in their late 30s to early 40s. Lucinda hasn't kept up with nutrition the way other anagirls have, like Ashley for example, eating nutrition shakes and vitamins will help stave off the organ damage for a while, but without that sort of slight intervention, you end up with very young girls like this dangling at the end of their rope at a young age. It's heartbreaking, if it weren't for her mental illness, she could at least probably make it to 30 but it doesn't look like that's going to happen for her.

I'm both so relieved and so heartbroken with this update. She's getting help now, sure, but the next time she disappears suddenly I can't imagine there'll be a positive follow up. We'll have to see how dialysis and physical therapy go for her; I'm not optimistic her mental illnesses will let her comply with what the doctors want her to do.

Fuck. I'm glad she's alive but at the same time it feels... bittersweet. It's only a matter of time until her body can't take it anymore.
My dad is going through dialysis, half of the week, and it absolutely drains him. I can only imagine what it's like for someone like Luci.

It's so sad to watch it happen. I don't even know what to say.

I'm so glad to hear she's still with us, but it's still scary. To be so young and have to have a pacemaker is wild. I hope she's doing better and comes back soon.
I couldn’t decide whether to rate your post optimistic or feels because both are appropriate, but there’s no better for her now.

Her heart and her kidneys at minimum are starting to fail, better is a entirely relevant term with someone as mentally ill as Lucinda.
It’s only downhill from here even if she decides she wants recovery which is the tragic part but I think she’s accepted that she’s going to die long before this.

Her family must be pulling all the strings they can to try dialysis in her situation and physical condition instead of hospice care, come to think of it she might be in hospice now or something similar.
I know they love her but I can’t imagine what it’s like for her parents seeing their daughter as a 65 pound schizophrenic unicorn with extreme self harm scars and a positive attitude, it’s just all around sad.

Give me rainbows, but maybe this severe medical intervention will be the turn of a new leaf for her. She’s always seemed relatively self aware despite her circumstances, I think she’s just completely devoid of the will to live. If only she knew that unicorns are at their most magical when they’re healthy and strong….

I often wonder if she’d feel more supported or more odded out by the fact that she’s arguably the most well received cow in the beauty parlor. Tugging at our collectively jaded heartstrings is an accomplishment.

Man this thread is quite possibly the one that’s made me the saddest on this entire website. She seems like such a genuinely nice person. I’m glad she is alive, but goddamn things do not look good. (:_(

Had to have been severely deficient in magnesium, at least my guess. Poor thing, coming to afterward must've been terrifying. Wonder if they doped her while they had her there.
She was most likely purging after a binge. A lot of disordered eaters end up fasting for some time, then when they try to break their fast with food, they end up binging uncontrollably and inevitably purging. Her heart was most likely weakened as it was, and combined with the dangerous imbalance of electrolytes caused by purging, it's no wonder her body just couldn't take any more abuse. Some hardcore bulimics like Lucinda have been known to actually burst blood vessels in the eyes from excessive purging. It doesn't just happen to "hardcore" or even just "bulimics;" it's entirely possible for it to happen to anyone because of the forced, unrelenting spasming of the diaphragm. All autism aside, I am very pleased to hear she's alive. I can only hope that this might encourage her to recover or at least improve her habits to a point where her health is no longer in such a grave state. :optimistic:

I've spent hours and hours verifying information- searching for accounts that could give us reliable updates, or a better picture of the situation. Generally hitting walls and finding nothing.
I'm not talking about cowtipping, but being able to verify her health via trustworthy sources. (Want to help? Dm me. No fuckin gayops shit.)

I bring this up to highlight that the @Skogenbarn Twitter is the closest to friend or family that I was able to find- and thus the (unfortunately) most reliable source we currently have. So, I believe them.

To me, this outcome is almost worse than finding out she died though. If she really has a pacemaker now, and is on dialysis I think we're only going to continue watching her almost die, over and over.

From my understanding those conditions are difficult to live with for otherwise "healthy" or "mature" people. Luci is neither. As we know. I think a wakeup call that leads to a complete 180 is unrealistic. Relapse to the extent she does isn't an option at this point. I want so badly to believe the damage isn't too far done, and that she can get the treatment she needs- but realistically, the first time she starts slipping it will be a day or two of fasting, dehydration and an insane b/p that will just wreck her heart and kidneys. I don't think she will survive many of those relapses.

I want to believe we won't see much of Lucinda anymore. Because her parents got her help, because the internet isn't good for her, because she recovered and moved onto something better.
At this point we have no way to confirm anything, and the realistic part of me keeps bitch slapping the optimistic part.

Ya just gotta fight another year or 2 babe! Can't become a unicorn before Chicken Run 2!

The account that leaked the news about Lucinda is now working to prepare a care package to send her while she's in the hospital.

" it's entirely possible for it to happen to anyone because of the forced'' it most certainly is, first thing you notice is your eyes suddenly stinging like hell and back
and i dont mean slight stinging, i mean the kind that doesnt let you open your eyes for a few minutes
and when pulling down your eye lid suddenly reveals blood red.
and that goes up to your whole eye for a few days, to then simmer away.
it did look fucking metal

Suddenly remembering that post further back in this thread with the picture of a dead woman who died purging :(

I've never given so many feels ratings in a thread before.
