I'm going to take this opportunity to drop a link to a book I've been reading:
Before Stonewall, edited by Vern L. Bullough.
This is a collection of biographies of gay rights figures who were active before Stonewall. Written by gay academics for a gay audience. One person featured in this book is Walter Breen, husband of Marion Zimmer Bradley, gay intellectual and serial pedophile. He wrote a book on pederastry titled "Greek Love." The author of his article is also the founder of a journal called Paidika, which is about... take a wild guess. Breen's "activities" are mentioned in a matter-of-fact way, as is the fact that he died in prison after being convicted of raping a boy. I don't suppose it occurred to Vern L. Bullough or anyone else involved in writing this book that Walter Breen was perhaps not the best person to hold out as an example of a gay rights pioneer.
Then read the guy's bio that comes after Breen. An equally psychotic character, whose "fascination" with young boys is also mentioned.
Then look up Harry Hay, Larry Kramer, Harvey Milk and Alfred Kinsey. The gay cause was massively whitewashed in the 90s, and I and many others thought that it was always just about Adam and Steve wanting a white picket fence and a backyard grill like everyone else. Queer theory, gay rights and boy love were like peas in a pod until the ACLU and United Nations told the gay movement to cut out the kid stuff if they wanted to partner with them and be recognized as a human rights cause, but if you check out gay mens' conversations anytime they aren't in the media spotlight or they've had a few beers, they confirm what everyone's suspected.
I suspect one reason gay men have basically abandoned lesbians to tranny predation is that pushing anything-goes queer theory will get them to the destination they want to reach, and this time they don't have to be the ones leading the charge. They can let a bunch of pink-haired anime fetishists in programmer socks stand in front and soak up all the bad P.R. while schoolteachers are convincing kids to ditch their parents and find a glitter family. In the past, lesbians may have had a better position because they were on the same side as the mainstream advocacy organizations who wanted the pedo stuff out of the movement, but now that gay men have all the legal protections they want and the movement has shifted to focus on trans above all else, the political equation has changed.
