Got a little story for you. Friend of mine once did Teach for America in a deprived urban neighborhood. You know the type I mean. Teaching elementary schoolers and on the first day reading off their names for roll call. Gets to one where the girl's first name is literally written as "Vagina". So here she is, reading the names and pauses..."Is...Vagina...here..?"

A kids voice calls out from the classroom as a little girl stands up and shakes her finger with attitude: "The NAME is VAG-I-NAYY!"

Whenever I hear women discussing these names, the response is always: "ohh wow that's so beautiful/unique" really?

I love uncommon, weird names. I have one myself. But these ugly names are mainstream because women genuinely think they sound pretty. It boggles my mind.

Yea there is a growing trend towards that in boys names as well just bland and dull not origional or has and deeper meaning than the Dulux catalogue your mum was looking at for the bathroom around the time you where concived.

Yea it's one think to have a uncommon name especially if it's something relevant to your family I know a guy whos middle name is Akal that is Sikh name his dad gave him after his best mate who got him sober and is also the closest thing he's got to a uncle but the rest of his name is rather conventional.

But a lot of the modern "Unique" names are just ugly.
