Whoever did this is a fool and should be kept well away from the practice of law.

There is no more cardinal judicial offense than to leak a judicial opinion in an attempt to obstruct what the court is doing. Would you trust such a person as a client, whatever you thought of the cause? This is an absolutely idiotic display and a breach of the canons of judicial ethics as well as even the more basic obligations of a J.D.

Despite making up only 76% of the population, whites are responsible for 46% of all rapes. That is almost half.
Of course the true number could be even higher, since FBI statistics are based on arrests and crimes in minority communities are often unsolved. We all know how much white men love coming to the ghetto to rape all the strong women of color.

Conspiratard take: I am far from sure that this leak is done by some pro-abortion person. It may well be a controlled leak, designed to bind Democrats into reeing about abortion. The GOP may now try to make some backroom deals in exchange for amending the ruling, it will also release the pressure against the states' anti-grooming laws, especially that now we again know what a woman is.
This would be similar to what the Polish court did - they voted, but they didn't formally publish the ruling for a long time. Meanwhile the shreiking feminazis scared enough people off from the opposition parties with their retarded antics, while a couple of tax rate hikes and other unpopular stuff went unnoticed. Amy Barrett surely knows this story, being a Catholic activist.

That would be the end of the Supreme Court. Once people see it as just another political body open to horse-trading with the Constitution its all over.

The most extreme sabotage the political class ever took with the SC was Roosevelt's attempt to add justices in order to pack the court in the early 20th century. Trying to play political games with the court's rulings would be a massive violation of decorum and probably the sort of thing politicians would go to prison for (IANAL so I dunno all the laws about trying to influence pending court cases).

Not to mention there's zero incentive for the conservative justices to go along with it - most of them are relatively young and their appointments are for life. The only way they leave is by dying or by resigning - the latter being something RBJ should have considered in order to ensure her replacement would be appointed by Obama instead of Trump.

She was holding on for Hillary to appoint her replacement because Girl Power. Hillary winning was supposed to be a done deal.

"supposed to be a done deal" is an apt description for the overwhelming majority of the democratic party's political failures since the 1960s.

I'm not even going to reject the conspiratard take because it could be right. There is absolutely no valid, honorable reason to have done this. Whoever did it, and it very well may be a clerk on the majority side, and possibly not even a Fifth Columnist, but one who agrees with the opinion, who did it.

My opinion, my absolute wild guess, is it's a liberal law clerk, but possibly working for a conservative Justice. SCOTUS Justices may be boomers but they have to know the majority opinion in a case like this has to have access limited. The exact form of the document leaked probably identifies the specific person who accessed it, even in a boomer-oriented establishment like SCOTUS.

But to drop the Spencer Reid act for a minute I have no fucking clue who did it, but I do have a fairly educated guess as to what kind of person did it, and somewhere in the Venn diagram between something like (law clerks and ???) and (people who would do this) there are very few people.

Whoever did this nuked their (legal) career from orbit (or made their career as a pundit or even both).
