I used to slightly lean pro-choice, but the vaccine shit killed my illusions of legally protected body autonomy. None of the well funded civil rights groups said shit, and some even supported it. I'd bet there's a pretty high percentage of these people that would demand I get an experimental drug shot into my arm at Fauci's request, so I'm having a hard time rooting for them right now.

Okay, as fun as it is to see people freaking out on Twitter over this, the situation has the potential to blow up in the Republicans' face if not handled correctly. Part of the reason why the left has been floundering throughout the west is that they have pretty much nothing left to achieve now - same-sex couples not being able to get married was pretty much the last great social injustice in the west, forcing the left to back increasingly fringe causes like trans rights to stay relevant, which has caused the majority to finally put their foot down and say "nuh-uh, that's as far as you go."

Assuming they do go ahead with a full-scale shitcanning of Roe v. Wade, this puts a pretty fucking big issue back on the table for the Democrats to rally themselves behind, right at the time when they need a big issue that they can get behind for the mid-terms.

Or, it could turn out like Brexit where there was a pretty massive polarization on the issue, but the anti-Brexit side were concentrated in too few areas, allowing the pro-Brexit side to thoroughly shit on them when it really mattered. We'll see.

Oh, speaking of same-sex marriage:

This is a step in the right direction, gay marriage getting kicked back to the states is on the menu now as well probably.

That's a lot less likely, as Gorsuch and Kavanaugh are actually pretty supportive of LGBT rights, and while ACB is more ambivalent, I don't really get the impression that she cares enough to overturn the earlier ruling.
