I thought it was illegal to insist on sex unless there was an overwhelming genetic reason to do so (ironically to protect female embryos).

Most IVF clinics will only do sex selection for sex-linked genetic issues or "family balancing" i.e. you have 5 kids of one sex already and really desperately want the other. But it's not a law in the US, it's up to the policies of the clinic in question. I'm sure in Southern California there are clinics that will give you whatever the fuck you want, it's the land of "concierge medicine" run like a business to satisfy demanding customers.

While this is a comforting idea it's assumes that

A ) Becky would actually be considerate of others needs

B) She would make the sacrifice without making a billion about why she should not have to

They'll prob take the kid to Disney but that's only because it aligns with Bex's interests.

A few things to note: 1.) This is the first time Daniel's ever acknowledged a false pregnancy or miscarriage, meaning the previous ones were (as we all knew) fake. So, this one might have had some legitimacy, or Daniel's now lying for Bex also. 2.) Becky immediately rolls into "Wee I'm free to continue to get drunk and high again!" without any concern as to how it might affect her next cycle and thus future success. So, she's actually learned nothing and will continue to do what she wants and won't burden herself with changing.

Not that this is anything new to us, mind you, but at least she's consistent.
