Something like that, yes. As hormone levels rise ovulation occurs, hormone levels drop if no pregnancy is detected and that triggers the shedding of the uterine lining. Pregnancy causes other hormones to rise and fall in a very delicate balance; for example my sister-in-law doesn't produce progesterone, at least not enough to sustain a pregnancy, so she had to supplement that for her pregnancies - she discovered that after a miscarriage.

Not really, and typically they only take estrogen, as I said above. If they take progesterone it's typically to increase libido. I've heard that the ~reason~ estrogen gives them period symptoms is because they take it in the form of a shot and so as the levels wear off during the week/month symptoms appear. Except as already discussed, estrogen doesn't do that.

As usual trannies fail at even high school biology. A second semester/year of anatomy and physiology covers the human reproductive system and how it's affected by hormones in detail.

The problem with ~inclusive language~ is it's so hard to get right and can very easily feel forced and clunky. We've seen bad examples here, written by troons even! So let me talk a bit about an author who does it well.

To see it done right read T. Kingfisher's Saint of Steel books, and the other books set in that universe - specificlly Swordheart. She has a character in Swordheart (I think they pop up in other books, but I won't swear to that) that's non-binary, but it's so subtly written into the story that I didn't realize it was non-binary until I was almost done with the book, and it's a fairly major minor side character. She (Kingfisher) gives absolutely no hints as to the sex of the character, and it absolutely doesn’t matter. It's just not an issue at all.

Honestly, if all ~gender queer~ shit was treated/expressed like this character is in these books I don't think there would be such a push even among Republicans to stop them.

If you like subtle yet also obvious humor, fantasy with a dark edge to it, mysteries, and wholesome (yet explicit) slow-burning romances, I cannot recommend T. Kingfisher's books enough. Every one I've read has been amazing. So sweet and just so damn funny. Even if romance isn't your thing but you like fantasy with happy endings, you'd probably like them.
