Perverts and sexism. I never had problems when I was in IT, but I worked in a very small business with its own problems. However, a lot of my female peers did. Harassment, being talked over, accomplishments overlooked, being assumed they know less than a man with fewer credentials/education/experience, lower pay - sometimes much lower pay even for women without children and decades of experience, etc. Starting while in school. Many women get degrees and work in the field for a while before finding jobs outside of their industry because the male toxicity is just too much.
Powerlevel but I'm a woman in STEM. I only use gender-neutral usernames and images that aren't of me/my face because I learned real quick that being an actual woman in a male dominated field is a disadvantage. But hey, I got my vagina for free, so I can't complain about anything right?

That's a pretty minute point compared to chopping off your boobs, but for a lot of surgeries and even milder procedures where they don't let you drink/eat the day of, you may be somewhat dehydrated so the hand is often the only easy place to find a vein.
Took three sticks to find my vein in my AC last surgery, and I have good damn veins.
