I know the people who immediately switched from screaming "FALSE FLAG INCOMING" to "well of course Russia is invading Ukraine, they have perfectly valid reasons and anyone with a brain could have seen it coming" probably wont find this interesting, but some people might.
This small
Russian streamer has started getting like 10x the amount of attention since this began, probably because He's one of the few willing to express an opinion that's not supportive of the invasion or completely apathetic while toeing the line of what He might face punishment for saying. He's also a boomer who's old enough to remember the tail end of the USSR and has a family and a successful business so He has a fairly unique perspective compered to most others in contact with the outside world. He's been doing daily streams for the last three weeks.
The most interesting thing to me is that even this very middle of the road guy, who describes the events of 2014 as a coup and also associates the USSR with misery and oppression, was 100% certain that all the warnings being sent by the US and UK were a misdirection and that the idea of an invasion was laughable.
Here's a video from late January where he suggests that all the warnings are meant to distract attention away from the Olympics in China, He visits a supermarket to show how nobody is anticipating anything or stocking up.
Here's another from about a week before the invasion mockingly pretending that He's in a warzone because apparently the US had said that specific day was the planned date of the operation.
I'm not going to post any specific post invasion videos because like I said He's done one every day since and they're all more or less the same in tone and very light on information beyond how it and the reaction to it has effected Him and speculation on whats ahead. It's almost purely about the economic aspects because He's extremely limited in what he can say about the war itself, He basically just repeats whatever the official daily briefing is and says "read between the lines" when giving his own censored opinions.
In short: things are fucked.
His engineering business has come to a complete stop because all the software they use for seemingly all aspects of their work has stopped issuing licenses and a lot of their clients were foreign companies who are shutting down or middle men working for those companies who are also now fucked. His daughter lost her first job, which she got just last month, because that too was a foreign company that's leaving. He's started hording because things like simple electronics, medical supplies and motor oil are no longer coming into the country or now cost several times what they did previously. He's certain that the goverment will inevitably block YouTube and all other means of reaching the rest of the world and that Russia will return to what he remembers the USSR being like.
