That's only the base config. With very few options (like an ssd upgrade and better CPU) you'll be at 3.5k pretty quickly. You can spec these up at least 5k.


The thing is, his videos are actually worse in quality than they were over 10 years ago.
He uploads videos in super low bitrate 720p these days, which is something even 15 year old macbooks handle without breaking a sweat.
He's just consuming and spending Tammy's money because consooooom.

Jack is unemployed. He literally has 24 hours every day to edit and allow his shit to render. He doesn’t have deadlines. He has stuff in the queue for weeks if not months. I fail to see how upgrading to a $3500 MacBook will change anything.

Also, the Mac isn’t the reason his videos look like shit. He doesn’t know how to white balance, level or focus his camera. A new Mac won’t fix any of that in post. Additionally, he still has no idea about basic editing techniques. You can use the most superest fastest computer, it won’t make any difference if you don’t know how to use the editing software installed on it.

I guess we’ll have to see if his video quality improves in a month or so (whenever he runs out of the stuff that’s in the queue currently), but I’m going to go ahead and say nah. It will look exactly the same.

For $3500 he probably got ripped the fuck off. He could've paid a company to build him a top-of-the-line editing and rendering computer capable of running games at the same time as rendering for that cost. Laptops work for this kind of thing but frankly speaking I don't see the point of an editing laptop if you're buying it as a dedicated render machine and not out in the field as a photographer/location shooter or going into a studio a lot. If you're waddling into a Golden Corral to review their hog roast then waddling back home with mommywife you absolutely don't need it to be a portable system.

Thing's gonna sit on Jack's kitchen table (because he definitely eats in that tard-recliner we saw him on in the past) and melt the varnish rendering a 720p 120kbps video he'll shit out with a stolen thumbnail. What a waste of money.
