💬 Off-Topic Louis Theroux's Forbidden America

My fav screenshot from the Doc, what a manlet looser.

This seems perfect for that virgin vs. Chad meme.

I'm looking forward to watching this, but I have a feeling there is going to be a clash in tone. His recent work is much more serious, and he's a lot more sombre when interviewing, but his subjects in this episode are more in line with his older, wackier stuff.

If the next two episodes are really about rapping and porn, it seems like he may be revisiting previous topics with a more serious lens and/or comparing the past to Current Year.

Ngl, I'd love if the porn episode delved into the rise of Only Fans and all the oddities involved in taking those kinds of photos. OF creators are a strange bunch anyway, but with his past willingness to experience what his subjects do, I can only imagine the hilarity of some thot teaching Louis how to pose and then retouch the images. Just think of a gangly, hairy, middle-aged man taking photos in the style of an e-girl.

I loved when Louis went after Westboro. Also he was in a gay porn flick.

God it needs the catboi footage. If we had to witness it he does too.

My scattered thoughts. Keep in mind I only somewhat remember the names of these people.

- Literally every single person Louis talked to almost managed to defend themselves, and would have if they stopped talking at a certain point. For instance, Louis asked one person if they believed in white supremacy. Their response was "no," gave a good defense, then messed it up by saying "but..." and talking about white genocide.
- I knew Baked Alaska sung stupid songs and was completely embarrassing, and he decided to show Louis one of his songs while singing about how he doesn't like Twitter. Even Louis couldn't believe what he was sitting through.
- Brittany, when asked about a horde of people chanting "Jews will not replace us," said it was just a joke. Joke or not, people chanting this as a mob holding torches through the night doesn't give the best impression, and you can't convince anybody this was done tongue-in-cheek.
- I have no idea who this cretin with a beard is, but it looks disgusting.
- I remembered watching Louis's documentary about the Westboro Baptist Church, and I couldn't stop thinking about how they were able to defend their stupid ideas and look much more professional than these clowns.
- The gross beard guy is probably the dumbest of the bunch, and if I were any of these people, I'd disassociate from him A.S.A.P.. Once again, joke or not, him calling up Brittany saying he wants to anally rape her doesn't send the best first impression.
- While Louis does push questions regarding their politics, this would be a good opportunity for them to diffuse their poor public image. They instead deflect the question.
- They look absolutely awful when Louis brings up old quotes and videos of theirs. Rather than address it, they just stomp their feet and start yelling at him before demanding he leave.
- Baked Alaska does IRL streaming and makes the worst decisions imaginable, starting with finding a bunch of people with darker skin and yelling "Cubans" at the top of his lungs.
- Continuing to make bad choices, Baked Alaska decides to leave his stream's donation speaker on while being actively recorded, so Louis is treated to Nazi marching songs and /pol/ copypastas. Not the greatest idea if you want to prove to a captive audience that you're not associated with hyper righties.
- "Disingenuous!" My favorite word for internet talking heads to say.

Overall, 9/10. Some quiet moments but an absolute must watch.

apart from the obvious stuff, I really dislike theroux he has such an air of faggotry about him with his stupid face and the way he asks questions. everyone did a horrible job defending themselves, youd think they wouldve done some practicing knowing its coming...but theroux was still a faggot for telling them its not a hit piece, but totally trying to have his gotcha moments.

Baked Alaska is one of the most embarassing people I've ever encountered online. He gets the chance to go on a documentary and potentially advertise himself and his movement, and he fucks it up by acting like a sperg and getting mad at some very mild baiting from Louis. Pathetic lmao

Hard not to do a hit piece when the subjects just keep punching themselves in the face.

Here's how I think the Beeb characterised everyone:

Fuentes was the 'straight guy' (ironically) for this documentary, as he was the most presentable of the group, the most articulate and had the best rapport with Louis. He also got treated the softest, Louis could have made him look an idiot with a simple 'Aren't you part Spanish?' when he was banging on about mixed couples.

Baked was there for us to cringe at, playing his stupid fucking rap tracks and generally coming across as a retarded troll more interested in setting people off than activism for the far right. Until the end of the documentary when he argued with Louis on his stream, where instead of being straight with the guy and explaining how the TTS donations are designed to make the general public uncomfortable and get a rise out of people (and therefore make money for him), he goes on a drunken rant about 'apologising to your white ancestors' and just comes across as the common-or-garden racist you would've seen in 'Louis and the Nazis'.

Venti was there to put across a single message: 'I was radicalised and now I'm not, I am a victim'. She also inadvertedly showed us the absolute fucking state of her apartment. Seriously, you know you have the BBC coming to do an interview with you and your apartment looks that foul? Stinky.

Beardson was the documentary's villain, by his own doing. I don't know much about him because I don't follow his streams, but everything we were shown and the way he acted throughout the entire thing made him look like an arsehole. You could have written off his 'Brittany I'm going to rape you in the ass because you tacked yourself onto this movement' video as a joke, especially with the retarded joker laughing at the end, but it wasn't particularly funny. I'd put forward the opinion that he probably wants to actually fuck Venti, and that 'joke' was projection.

Overall it was entertaining enough, a decent watch. It's the first time I've seen Louis get a little bit angry with his documentary subjects as well, and his offended, softboi liberal side that so many in London have shone through a little more than I think he would have liked.

yeah I guess, but theroux is supposed to be above the tabloid journalism tactics, apart from scientology which fairly he went ham on them, he has been fairly neutral is most of his other work. i suppose hes running out of stuff to do and hes resorting to this shit.

This is the second time he's done a documentary on the far right, he did Louis and the Nazis something like 15/16 years ago. I think he wound up doing the same thing as that documentary outside of one or two moments, where he just let people put their feet in their own mouth.

Imagine how heavily you would have to edit the footage in order to make Fuentes and Baked and the others not look like a bunch of rabid tards.

Only seen clips so far, I'll give it a watch at some point but I'm surprised he gets serious/flustered talking to these imbeciles and took them seriously at all? This man did a documentary about actual neo Nazis and seemingly kept his composure better.

I really liked his old stuff but I soured on Louis massively after the Scientology doc which was a boring meandering mess. I couldn't believe a guy who did the weird weekends was able to plop out such an embarrassing lazy turd of a documentary and haven't watched anything by him since.

watching it get filmed live you could see Louis slowly irritating baked over the course of multiple days and multiple visits, the guy showing up late, weird requests, the film crew having visa issues, and trying to bait baked into turning on america first

baked was clearly holding back on his real thoughts when it came to white nationalism in fear of being "bad optics" and potentially upsetting nick fuentes' ego, but it was obvious there was some campfire meeting between the ameritard first faggots where they all agreed to avoid the white nationalism moniker and pretend their nigger/women hate was some kind of high tier troll that boomers just don't understand cause #internetculture

and i'm surprised the entire "looking for niggers to fight" segment was cut completely

Beardson on the verge of tears not being able to own upto the fact he was a white nationalist, saying he didn't throw a roman then shown to be throwing two, crying about it when asked about it while he was streaming.. that was, as my friends in the heeb mosque say 'Kosher'

Woowie really is pretentious.
I like how he starts shit talking these guys when he doesn't get the answers he wants, but you can tell he really is butthurt over the memes, racist donos, and songs.
outside of the accent and him being smart enough to not have social media he truely is your typical faggy journalist
I'm actually a big fan of his documentaries I saw as a teenager and I've always admired his ability to hold back and just let people entangle themselves in their own internal contradictions. He's very talented, but unfortunately I think he lets his personal perspectives influence the narrative here and he thinks that "X is homophobic" is an argument in and of itself. None of them had the audacity or balls to just accept that label so he beat them around with it.
we all know what would happen if they just admitted to having the same views as you. plus anyone with a brain and a knowledge of editing knows he's probably being a massive shit outside of the footage. he's a typical journo, just imagine everything he's saying is a tweet from a blue checkmark. i like him too but its the freaks that make it good, never him.
,
Having just watched it all I can say is that I wish the Louis that did the episode on the black nationalists had done this one, he's too old and serious now and seems to have lost the likability that he had that.
most jews likeability fades after a decade in the spotlight. its the proverbial "nose and sass"
Next episode is the Florida rap scene (no idea on the third/final episode yet).

Florida rap has gotten huge and made waves super recently (that one idiot that defended himself in court) but i don't think its up there with IBS.
"He's a Jew".
"He's biased".
Who fucking cares? Stop sperging.

The documentary was decent, above average. That's mainly because of my KF bias. I've been a-logging Fuentes since the Halsey English Nick the Knife cringe. I don't like the musical manipulation and him pretending to be offended by that Twitter is gay song. If I watched it without prior knowledge to Fuentes' autistic Internet deeds, I probably would have enjoyed it a lot more. The best segment in my opinion was Beardson being a raging manlet. Claiming his 60% White country is better and his friends that tweet about victims of the Christmas parade attack being race traitors is better. He calls himself the full package at a staggering 5' height.
what makes you think he's pretending to be offended you dumb piece of shit?

louis says its not a hit piece because it allows retards to believe its not. its the same defense as going "its just a joke" only people like our mods and admins are stupid enough to believe it

I think people here are missing the point. This wasn't a doc meant to get you to point and laugh at retards. It was meant to show how "dangerous" the right wing is. It's meant to show them as a threat to be dealt with as opposed to the colossal retards they actually are. Louis could've made Fuentes look retarded easily enough just by pointing out that he's mixed race. But he didn't. The shit with Venti was even more egregious. The BBC want to make the Alt-Right look like a dangerous cult that is growing and needs to be "dealt with".

Documentary has Nick and his groypers come across as reasonable and articulate, especially when compared to how media portrays Trump or some other unperson. I can't see this as a loss for cat boy aficionados, as any media critical person can notice all the jump cuts and well poisonings. There is nothing different with Nick claiming he isn't white nationalist, and some leftist claiming they aren't anti-white, the same version of copium software works with both instances. Documentary was way too nice and didn't go after Nick for being a raging homo or Venti for being stinky.

LMAO at some of the more retarded Kiwis reeeing about how he didn't interview the "right" white nationalists. Like, these are the retards your people elected. As if "real" white nationalism is some bastion of intellectuals and not diseffected internet trolls. It's not propaganda that people like openly closeted Fuentes and fucking Baked Alaska are your leaders. They are a far, far better cross section of the movement then some obscure "intellectual" white nationalist.

Respectable people understand what the consequences are of trying to espouse this point of view today. The primary component of white identity is to make a family. How do you make a family when you can't work and can't open a bank account? You don't get to.

You're subject to a confirmation bias. You think poorly of people, you see poor representations, and you assume from lack of contradicting perspective that this is simply how it is.

See how many people are white, have white spouses, and white children and worry about the anti-white hatred prevalent in the country. It's a lot more than just a few retards with tiki torches following a catboy to the DHS's watchlists.

Imagine you are someone who wants a white country and a white government which can actually adequately represent you. What are your options for achieving this? You are democratically marginalized and your position in the world gets worse each passing day. If you speak about this you are labeled a bad person and removed from broader society. I think most people just self-segregate, buy weapons, and keep quiet until there's a better time to be present.

Right now, white people are prey. We have to act like prey. Confrontation is not going to work. Nick Fuentes is a prey animal that acts tough. He's a emaciated gazelle that doesn't get to mate but still wants to lead his friends (who are also emaciated, childless gazelles) in a revolution against a pack of hyenas that are going to rip him apart very slowly. That's why it's funny. Smarter people just stay away, but they're out there.
