Honestly if this was 2016 idubbbz and there wasn't any beef, him and Sam probably would've really gotten along. However this footage was recorded directly after Idubbbz was branded as a cuck by the internet so he was pretty jaded towards his fanbase as you can tell by the interview he had with Sam and was probably a little bit jealous Sam could afford to be edgy and say nigger without having to worry. Sam knowing this (despite forgetting about the beef) knew he could blatantly fuck with him and it'd be funny to do since Idubbbz couldn't really swing back asides from woke moralfagging

My theory: Ian was mad that Sam went in with the intent on fucking with him, and it probably made him look bad. so he scrapped the video. Sam was mad that Ian tried to passive aggressively dig at him for something that happened years ago, and didn't even put it up to show people how bad he got owned.
tl;dr They both went in with bad faith and were mad that they were met with bad faith
Or its all fake to pump channel views for both of them. I honestly wouldn't put it past them.

Because idubbz basically is bullying the people he makes the documentaries on. He picks specific weirdos that are lesser known that he can make fun of while coming off as a genuine little documentary. People like airsoft fatty or the Smoothie gameshow guy are too awkward or dumb to get what Idubbz is doing or see the setups questions. Sam fucking with him and basically ruins what idubbz had planned and how he wanted the documentary to go. When all he has to go on is weird footage where Sam is making Idubbz look like a fool the position he puts himself in within the videos of the smarter, cooler youtuber/documentarian is ruined.

Basically Sam hurt his ego and it damages the newer reputation he is trying to build for himself on youtube.
 
This is one of the many times where Sam Hyde's reputation hurts him. If Ian didn't know who Sam Hyde was then a lot of the gaslighting would have been a lot more effective. You can sort of tell that Ian knows that Sam Hyde is fucking with him and is a bit defensive.

But I'm going to disagree with a lot of people here, I don't really think Ian was doing the doc over some 10-year-old grudge, he doesn't seem like that kind of person. He doesn't even necessarily try to paint his subjects in a bad light, not to say that he doesn't show negative things. Honestly believe that Ian went into this wanting to capture an authentic Sam Hyde, something that I don't think anyone has ever seen, but what he got was Sam Hyde fucking with him. I can see why he didn't release it, it just doesn't work with what he was aiming for.

Overall, it's a bizarre but intriguing creation from two people with opposite motives clashing over a week long period.

Sam is what, around 36 years old now? That's not exactly elderly, but he's not really young anymore and chances are he just doesn't have much left in the tank creatively. I realize this is kind of a depressing take, but I seriously doubt that he's going to start producing any material that is better than what he's already done. Novelty is a very important component to comedy and Sam's shit just isn't new anymore. There probably are people who have become funnier as they've progressed into middle age and beyond, but I can't think of too many.

I have some doubts that Sam actually forgot ever sending Idubbbz a copyright strike. The whole Dark Skyes thing ended up with egg on Sam's face, since a bunch of horsefuckers discovered the scam behind it pretty quickly. He went into full backpedal mode to try and protect his ruse, but I'm pretty sure by the time Idubbbz made his video on it, the ruse was blown. I can't remember if the artist had already pulled out of the project when Idubbbz put his video up, but I do remember Sam making videos begging the horsefuckers to let the ruse go on.
I think there was some pettiness on Ian's part here. They should have committed to the gaslight all the way, the document was the funniest part.
