But basically everyone conceded it was self defense, and there were people actually correcting others spouting the "across state lines" talking point. You guys must be great at parties. Seriously, I get being cautious and not letting our guard down because of this one victory, but at the same time, this is a victory nonetheless. Like @Dr. Ricearoni and @Almalexia said, this is a sign that the tide IS turning, and that the left are not infallible, no matter how much they'd like you to think that they are.

This is just not a good analysis of the situation. Single events like this don’t alter the course of history. Nothing is invincible or infallible, but the clear trend of American and western history is towards the left. This is a personal victory for rittenhouse, and a victory for justice in America. This would have been the uncontroversial and universally expected outcome a generation ago. It’s not now.
