I love it when they try to use examples of groups identified as some kind of "third gender" or category througout history because a closer look at that almost inevitably reveals those group's connection with homosexuality and they were never taken as being the same as the opposite sex. Heteresoxual men/women pretending to be opposite sex homosexual is not a category that has existed in cultures at any point, as far as I am aware, I would welcome a specific example of that if I am wrong, but at most examples would be of fringe cases, not accepted parts of society.

This "third gender" bullshit almost always boils down to different cultures' interpretations of intersex conditions and homosexuality. Not once in the course of history has anyone claimed to be born in the wrong body in terms of gender dysphoria before TRA became a thing.
It's the same shit as their claims of trannies getting killed on the streets every day, basically going through a holocaust, the whole world is obviously a danger to them guize!!! None of them will acknowledge that the only trannies actually being murdered are prostitutes working in extremely shady areas where people are regularly robbed and killed regardless of gender politics. Street hooker (who happens to be a man in a wig) takes a client to the back alley of some Brazilian shithole, and gets stabbed in a heroin fueled grapple? Imagine my shock. Must be rampant transphobia on the internet, this obviously wouldn't have happened if the hooker wasn't trans.

Slightly off topic PL, but I run an etsy store for a fairly niche craft. I realised pretty soon after opening the store that I could make bank on the trannies because they love these crafts for some reason, so I made some products with the troon flag and some of their favourite slogans, and what do you know they're some of my best sellers. Every time someone checks out I get a little flash of joy at siphoning off their hard earned gofundme money. I'm sure I'm not the only etsy seller who's figured out they can make good money off the troons and handmaidens - with that said I'm definitely not making stuff as gross as badges with ghost spunk on them.

I wonder if you put up pro TERF products too how many would notice. Reminds me of that one picture from somewhere in the consoomer thread of an Etsy store that sells pro vax and anti vax printed masks right next to each other with 0 shame lol.

The one example I know of would be "2 spirit" people in Inuit society, but they're not anything like modern trans people. (I know 2 spirit is used by other indigenous groups to mean different things, but I have no idea of the historical validity behind it.)

Basically, a newborn baby would be considered the second life of someone recently departed, regardless of sex. The baby would be raised as the sex of the departed person until puberty, then usually (though not always) return to their birth sex social role.

And though there's spirituality in the explanation behind this, it tended to be based on need of social roles as well. If a family has 7 baby girls in a row, one of the younger ones would be more likely to be 2 spirit because they'd need someone to fill the male social role, and vice versa.

This is very much an assigned at birth thing, not 30 year old men deciding it makes their weiners feel good to dress like women.
