The current generation has had free porn available to them their entire lives, though. Older people either didn’t have the internet when they were children, or the only porn available had to be paid for, and you had to seek the really degenerate shit out on the dark corners of the web. So they at least had a chance to experience real life before being exposed to porn, and they knew the difference. Kids nowdays don’t even have a chance. There are eleven-year-old children addicted to porn. Kids are so used to mainstream porn by the time they hit puberty, that they have to seek out the really degenerate stuff just to get the same effect anymore. It’s like having an entire generation of people who were molested by adults when they were children.
This is true, and people need to wake up to it. Especially parents, because nobody else is going to do anything useful. It used to be old Church ladies, stuffy conservatives and Tipper Gore complaining (feebly) about explicit content. They lost, obviously, and all the hip cool people mocked and smirked.
Any discussion about porn still seems to be stuck in that smug Boomer timewarp, as if you were worried about a Betamax copy of Porkies or lo-res FMV of lingerie models in Night Trap on the Sega CD. But it's not 1993 anymore. Children have 24/7 unfiltered access to petabytes of 1080p HD hardcore fetish pornography from the computer in their pocket. This has never happened before in the whole of human history, so we have no idea what the long term consequences of 9 year olds knowing about double penetration might be. But we're already seeing some of the short term ones, and they're pretty fucking grim.
The explosion of troonery is related to porn. But there's other stuff going on too, such as the potato people. I've never seen so many doughy, neotenic, weak little smirking pussies in my entire life. An entire generation that's never known any kind of hard physical labor, never been punched in the face, never been belted by their dads.
The average Millennial and Zoomer seems to be alienated from the real world of face to face relationships in an actual community that isn't on the internet, the humility that comes with physical struggle (whether that's a fist fight at school or digging ditches as a summer job, or wiping grandma's ass because she's senile and has cancer, it doesn't really matter), and the resilience that comes from painfully building your own identity through learning to do things, take criticism and be good at irl interactions with people you can't block and report as soon as they say something you disagree with.
They're Peter Pan's Lost Boys and Girls, trapped in permanent adolescence, imprisoned in fat and frail bodies stuffed with sugar and carbs, unable to adult and unable to distinguish fantasy from reality. No wonder so many of them can't even bring themselves to fuck anymore, unless it's some horrible Cronenbergian body horror parody of sex with two genderly-challenged weirdos tryna figure out how their fetishes and self-diagnosed mental illnesses intersect in a squicky mess of mutual self-loathing.
I'm not saying round up all Millennials and put them on that island from Battle Royale, just the ones with day glo hair dye, septum piercings, or Twitch accounts.
