yes as I have traveled and lived out side of the states. There is a lot of high fructose corn syrup in American sodas I can not stand the taste myself. I do drink 2 cans of sprite a day and mellow yellow for migraines as Caffeine helps with them. But when I lived outside of the states I notice a major difference in the sweetness and it tasted better. IE like Chocolate here in the states just taste bad to me now I if I eat will eat Japanese or my English Aero bars oooh or the Swedish chocolate I can find in certain grocers.
Everything here in the states when it comes to food is over sweetened with HFCS its even in some canned Veg and people wonder why so many are fat sugar is addicting I cut way back and whoa the shakes and head aches / migraines were a bitch.

I stopped buying bottled soda years ago and switched to sodastream. Sodastream has several sugar and diet versions of certain brands, that includes Mt Dew, 7up, Pepsi. The benefit of a sodastream is that you can dose the amount of syrup to water ratio to make it to your liking.
