He's mixing up sexual orientation with general attraction. No, Jimmy and Sandy won't immediately get together because they have different chromosomes, but the bare minimum the two have as a requirement for each other aside from not being a criminal is having the opposite sex's genitals. If Sandy and Jimmy both take off their clothes and realize only one of them is sexually excited by the other, where the fuck does this leave the one who isn't? You may like someone but it doesn't mean you'll be sexually aroused by someone. And yes, asking to try harder IS unreasonable: it is not you, it is our our body works.
