Which meal happens to kick your ass down the most? - Any factor can make some food you eat have a bad day whether it is expired, spicy, raw or your body just can't handle it.

"Ghost Pepper" et al. just seem stupid to me.
Ohhhh that reminds me of the time I took a bite of a Carolina reaper. A buddy of mine grew a couple plants just to see how hot they really were. And since I'm stupid I decided to try one for myself. It was by far the hottest thing I've ever eaten. It made it hard to breathe, my ears started ringing, I started sweating. There is no reason on gods green earth anyone should put anything that hot near food. Unless you're a masochist.

I had never had a big kick to any hot sauces before, even ghost pepper and scorpion.
That changed when I tried out the Egyptian Armenian hotsauce, I felt that shit hard.

My attempts to eat beets over the years have always followed the same simple process:
Step 1: Ingest beets.
Step 2: Vomit.

Orange juice gives me canker sores. Eating fresh oranges doesn't do it. Other acidic beverages like fresh-squeezed lemonade, tea, or soda don't do it. It's just orange juice. It doesn't matter if it's fresh-squeezed or concentrate, drinking a glass of orange juice is guaranteed to give me canker sores all over my mouth a day or two later.

We have all had waterfalls, spicy bottom and/or the rumbly tumblies. The most memorable for me is when i was at a mexican joint and the cook accidentally made some fajitas with habaneros. They walked the sizzling pan next to me and i got full smoke waft direct impact. I had fajita cough for a week.

Worst case of food poisoning I ever experienced came from, of all places, a KFC on the Oregon coast. Nothing seemed off about any of the food, but that night and a chunk of the morning were spent either on the toilet or drinking lots of water to fight the dehydration.

this shit.
i enjoy spicy food. i enjoy my flamin' hot(tm) flavored goyslop from time to time. i did not enjoy this.
the smell is horrid. the taste is worse.
what it did to my insides does not need to be shared here.

I can't say anything precise so as to avoid power leveling but I have a very common ingredient that isn't uncommon for people to just throw into dishes without thinking because it's really good on its own, blends in with everything, and has basically no downsides unless you're me. If you're me you're looking at 2-3 days of intense nausea/diarrhea, intense wheezing/coughing/phlegm discharge, and what feels like a chemical burn all the way from my mouth to my anus. It's not immediate, in fact it's generally so delayed and the ingredient so inconsequential to the recipe that I end up having no idea what caused it so I can either avoid it, or ask the person who cooked the thing to leave said ingredient out because I am violently allergic. It can also be hard to avoid at times, as it looks exactly like certain other ingredients that don't have the same effect, and a lot of times it's referred to generically on ingredient lists so I can't know if it's the related thing that tastes good and does nothing negative or the thing that tastes good and leaves me nearly bedridden for half a week

I eat tons of spicy food. scotch bonnet, cholula, mad dog, spicy thai, taco bell, crazy shit, all fine.
but this one specific mexican place kills me. Its a higher end place too. has me doubling over in pain but its the absolute best food ive ever had.

Popeyes spicy tenders. Every time I've gotten it at a local spot, it rips me a new one. Probably a combination of food poisoning because I've had curry, tandoori, jerk chicken with minimal issues, but those fucking spicy tenders put me in mortal danger.

I'm ok with spicy food and have an iron gut in general, but the food at Texas Roadhouse for some reason really fucks with my guts. It's also insanely oversalted, and that's coming from somebody who loves salty food.
