Is there such a thing as a good man with bad finances?

If you are alone, the only person you can hurt with bad budgeting skills is yourself. I don't know wether or not hurting yourself is good or bad when it comes to morals and ethics. If you have a family you are actively fucking them over by having bad finances (assuming you are the provider).

Yes they can, due to simple ignorance, and not maliciousness.

But you're talking about 2 subjective notions: "good (person)" (which varies depending on moral code) and "bad finances" (which also depends on criteria: what may be "bad" for someone more strict, might be acceptable to you).

So under common sense standards and an open mind that accepts other points of views as valid, arguably yes, but not always, e.g: someone being blatantly negligent and burning all of their family's savings at the casino.
